My baby is 6 months and my family is super excited and on my neck about feeding her purées. I started oatmeal at 5months due to the pressure I was getting because my doctor okayed her at 4months. She is in the 98percentile for height but 14% for weight so I wanted to increase her weight. She loves the oatmeal and I give it to her once a day. Her poop is starting to smell horrible and I know it’s not a reason to not feed her but that is just one small reason… my baby is ebf and I’m really not ready for her to start eating purées 3x a day. I want my breastmilk to be her main source of food. I just want to start small but the pressure is real for her weight gain.

You don't have to jump right in 3 times a day. We have been doing 2 oz once a day and a little bit of cereal. I just wanted her to try everything as early as possible. Do whatever you feel is right, but just start small. One jar of food is 4oz, so just split it before you feed and save the second half for the following day.
Wait till she tries something she likes and gets pumped up over it, it's so funny!

Yes, I think you’re intuition is spot on. You’ll have to find a way to explain to others, family and doctors alike, that you’re going at the pace that you deem the best for her. Really, breast milk SHOULD be her main source of food for the full first year. People really rush the solids, which I also find really annoying. My boy is 6.5 months and we’re just now kind of dabbling with a bit of bone broth and tiny bits of mashed egg. He’s just not really into it yet, and I feel no reason to push it. Do what you feel is best!! You’re in charge 😀 and your intuition is better than anyone else’s

My baby is about 6 months now and he goes back and forth all day with bottle feeding and his baby food

Food under one is just for fun! Breastmilk is her primary food until 1 year. I think you're doing great!
