I need suggestions I’m literally at the end of my patience and Just wanting to give up.. I’m trying to get my lo 7months to go to sleep in her cot for bedtime sleep and now for naps too.. I’m not a fan of cry it out but it wouldn’t work anyway cause she isn’t upset she is just constantly getting up onto her knees and holding onto the side of the crib! I’m going back to work in just under 2months and she contact naps on me or she sleeps in her chair!
How did you all get your los to go to sleep in the cot? It doesn’t help that she is still right next to me in her cot as we only have a one bed flat!

If she is not upset I would just leave her to babble or do whatever she wants in the cot.. what happens if you don't go to her when she does this? I would start with naps first as they are easier.. It just takes a lot of time and consistency as you have to put her down at every nap .. good luck x

I’m worried that if I leave her in their on her own shr will just bang her head cause she tries to pull herself up constantly I will keep going thanks x

I’ve previously thought about doing a gentler version of the pick up out down method, i never ended up doing it in the end so can’t vouch for it. I’d probably have sat near the cot/patted/rocked rather than leaving the room, picked up when they cried and put down when they’ve stopped crying but not asleep. I think it takes a while to work though x

i let my baby fall asleep on the sofa then take her upstairs to the cot after 30 mins.. if i put her in her cot still awake shes a nightmare!!

I lay on my bed next to the cot and lay her back down constantly so I guess I’ll just have to keep doing that for now… she’s so active all the time doesn’t sit still so probs be a long process like you said x

I wish she would fall asleep on the sofa but it has to be on me not even on her dad lol

Make the environment more friendly, if it’s not yet. Friendly stencils or prints of animals on the walls will make them feel more relaxed.

So there’s a sleep regression around this ages and they are going through huge developmental leaps so it may take a little time to settle down. She’s practicing her new skills and that normal. Try putting to sleep in the cot for bedtime as that’s normally most effective because that’s when they are most tired after the full day. And start with one nap of the day so you don’t stress yourself out. We did a gentle sleep training (mummyanddaddysleepconsultants IG) with my first and are using the same techniques with 7mo. Putting him in the cot, if he gets upset comforting but not picking up unless really going wild. He seems to be getting more able to self settle as he managed it for a nap today and bedtime tonight 💪 good luck.

My LB naps in his pram and sleeps in his cot at night, I let him fall into a deep sleep on my bed which usually takes between 20-30 mins and then I transfer him, if he wakes I either settle in the cot or try on bed again but it’s quicker as he’s half asleep by then.
Don’t worry if your thinking things will be difficult if your little one is going into childcare ect .. my boy naps in a cot at nursery because that’s what he’s always done since being there. I think they adapt to different routines in different ways.
But I could be completely wrong 🙈
