Naps

How do you fit only two naps in?? My son usually wakes up between 7-8 he usually wants his first naps around 10-11. I try to let him sleep a hour and a half but it’s impossible his body just wakes up after an hour so he’s usually waking up around 11-12 depending on what time he falls asleep. I try not to let him nap past 5 so realistically he would need to stay up all the way until 4 to do that but he does not last 🙃 he can only last about 2.5 max 3 hours… I try to keep him entertained but after a while it gets hard… I’ve always struggled with sleep even with 3 naps it felt like I could never fit in 3 to match his wake windows so that’s why I started two naps but now it seems like he can’t stay awake that long of a stretch… I feel like my goal was to have him nap around 11 wake up at 12:30 and then go back down at 3:30 and nap until 4:30-5 so he could get the 3 hours of day sleep in but that’s definitely not gonna happen lol. Maybe someone could layout there daily routine? Sometimes I feel like I’m doing his schedule so wrong and that’s why I keep running into sleep issues😕

my son wakes up between 7-8, i try to not let him go down until 11:30, he will wake up at 1-1:30 (sometimes longer). then we play and keep him distracted he will sometimes take a short nap around 3:30ish, but no longer than 45 minutes! then wake up, play, and feed solids at 5:30, bath at 6-6:15, then start bedtime routine qt 6:45. he will normally start nursing to sleep at about 7:45!
i try not to stress too much! if its office by 30 minutes it's off! but normally thats our schedule! since starting that he sleeps through the night or only wakes up once

For us, my baby is up between 6:30 and 7, her first nap is between 8:30 and 9, then up around 10 and 10:30, back down around 12- 12:30 up around 1:30. Her last nap usually falls between 3:45 and 4 pm and I just make sure she's up by 5 and then her bedtime is at 7. If things run over because later wake up or later naps, I just let her catnap for 30 minutes or so to still be up by 5 and in bed at 7

I’m struggling as well. My daughrrr usually goes down about 830/9. Wakes around 9, but with protest and would rather sleep longer until like 10/11.. then she wants to nap after an hr and a half! But only naps 45 mins at most

So yesterday we did this. Wake@9am nap 11am-1145, play 1145-2:55 lay down . Sleep @3:05-4:30 bedtime @ 9. It took her awhile to settle for bed so we need to fine tune it. I tried putting her to bed about 8:15 but I think she needed to be starting to be put in her crib about 7:55/8. Because I’m trying to make her schedule 8-8 as she sleeps better in the night. But she only woke 2x tonight which wasn’t terrible

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty for every little thing they do? I feel like I need to be entertaining my little one at all times. If I have to put her in the activity center to finish a task, instant guilt. In the car for too long, instant guilt. Replying to work emails instead of interacting with her, instant guilt. I know independent play is good for her but my brain thinks otherwise. Please tell me it gets better, I’d love to shower for more than 10 minutes without it feeling like the world is going to collapse.
