Crib

I've done the same. I was considering a next to me crib but really don't have the space, and I hated the idea of just having a crib for a several months only to get rid and buy a new one. I am planning on sleeping in the same room as the crib anyway, so I don't think there is much difference if the crib is next to my bed or just across from it. But FTM so I might be wrong on that haha.

I am sure you won't be the only one. I think it just takes time for babies to get used to being in a larger space after being in such a small, safe space for so long. I've heard of people putting moses basket into big cots before transitioning baby to big cot so maybe that's something you could consider so it's not taking up any more space and using space you already have? It is completely personal choice though whichever way you decide.

thankyou. I do have a dockatot so was considering putting her in that for day time naps whilst she's around us but for night time I heard they can be a sids risk so just gonna put her straight in the crib

I got a next to me because it was recommended for the baby to sleep in the same room for 1st 6 months.
My crib is too big to fit in our room with us, unfortunately.

I did see that if you get a travel system pram baby can sleep in the baskenett so that could work? & you won't be buying extra things x

my crib fits in my room so didn't think it would be a problem. My travel system doesn't have a flat bassinet it just has the baby carrier/carseat which attaches to the pram

FTM here and baby not here. We have a nursery and crib (later converts to toddler bed) can fit my room as is and after re-arranging it. We decided not to buy any extra sleeping things i.e next2me crib and moses basket etc because can't currently see the need for it. Baby cot will be in our room until we are all ready for baby to move into own room... Been thinking if he needs the space smaller, we may try swaddling andhe will be in sleeping bags. Then again we wont know if he's fussiness, if at all, would be bcz the space was too big! 🤷🏿‍♀️

We are just going straight into cot, cot is in our bedroom ATM. I've heard the baby might need time to initially settle in the big space but hopefully we can sort that sooner than later! I'm really trying to kerb spending as will be rather sort on cash as only entitled to maternity allowance

I have a regular crib too, I’d say to set some money aside and if u feel like I want a next to me crib when baby is here then get yourself one xx

I got a Tutti Bambino XL which starts as a bedside crib and concerts into a big cot and then a toddler bed. It's great tbh and really reasonable price
