My 6 weeks old daughter has been doing this for a few weeks now and it's getting worse and worse. She is feeding and suddenly after a few minutes, she starts unlatching and pulling at my nipple. She gets frustrated, starts panicking because she lost my nipple so I help her out, but she does it again and again until she starts crying when I put it in her mouth. She squirms and stretches her body out. It happens now almost every feed. The only time it doesn't happen is during her first feed of the night where she seems relaxed and slow feeds. What is going on and what can I do to stop this? There's definitely milk coming out so I'm not sure what makes her go mad like that.

Might be a flow issue. Try breast compressions when she is sucking to see if that helps. Mine does it when she is super hungry and the milk isn’t coming out quick enough.

Mine did that when she was frustrated she couldn’t get any flow going. Along with the other suggestions I’d check to see if she is tongue tied. My oldest was and couldn’t latch properly until we had a doctor fix it.

Mine LO does this when she is very tired, on and off the boob, crying, flustering so I take her off burp her and usually she burps. I try again just to make sure it's not just gas and if she still fusses I snuggle her and rock her where she usually crashes out

It could be that. She is awake a lot during the day. She only naps for 20 to 40 minutes when she does, but can go 4 hours awake in between.

sometimes they can be overstimulated in the day which makes it hard to settle them for sleep too
