My baby was born two days ago this is my first night home with her and I haven't slept since I went into labor with her. She won't let me put her down or she will scream. I don't want to hurt her if I fall asleep. Someone anyone please give me advice. I'm a wreck and in pain and partner tries to help but she only wants me and she's being breastfed so every three hours I have to be up anyways. What can I do 😭

try to see if she likes being swaddled, try to pump so when your sleep your partner can help feed her, when she does go to sleep you sleep too, try turning on soft soothing noises/lullaby, talk to her, and as much as it can be sad to watch her cry, just put her down & let her sometimes if you feel overwhelmed. my newborn is the same way some days. just take your time it’s definitely a learning process and it’ll get easier with time.. she’s two days old and everything is new and scary for her too so she’ll adjust

I don’t have much advice as this will be my first time too, but sending you love and hope you get some rest soon 💕

Have not been in this boat yet, just want to share something I learned in a childbirth class. They say that baby girls will go wild, won’t sleep, and cry a looot the second night. Boys the third. Just want to offer some reassurance, I’m sure it’s nothing you’re doing wrong. She may just want you, and is adjusting to life. I also remember them saying that sometimes walking outside with them, just stepping out the front door for a few minutes for fresh air may help soothe them.

Maybe start a pump routine and save milk so partner can feed the baby. Also this thing is expensive but f’n magic. Will knock a whimpering crying baby right out into deep sleep it’s A MILLION TIMES better than any swaddle you can do and it allows them natural movement. Feels like a hug all night! Our friends bought us one and it blew my mind the difference. Watch all the vids and check it out if you want more info. Also might want to try massaging baby’s stomach very lightly. Your partner can switch off. Let him do the burping etc and put her down by rocking her etc, so many ways he can be involved especially in week one while you get rest. Hope that helps!

My baby was like this when i came home too. It scared me so much honestly but later i found out it’s because she was so hungry and i wasn’t producing enough milk so she was just screaming for food. Once my milk came in, she’s wayyyy less fussy and doesn’t scream anymore.
When i wasn’t producing enough, we supplemented a little with formula in that first week so she can have a good sleep and rest.

Make sure your partner does skin to skin with her, that will help her regulate and recognize his smell. Lots of skin to skin with you as well, for her to feel safe and loved. Is normal to want to be close to you, remember you’re all she knows for the last 9 months you were one, she still doesn’t know she’s separate from you so it’ll take her time but they get there. After feeding her let your partner do a diaper change and then skin to skin so you can get some rest and then just take turns during the night so you can get a few hours of sleep.
You got this mama! 💪

Maybe let her sleep on you, but have your partner keep an eye on the two of you for safety? Good luck mama!
