Is the 4 month regression literally just babies not sleeping as much or?

Confused as my little one is 4 months now and she’s been waking up in the night but I can soothe her with a dummy and she sleeps for 12 hours. She’s slept a little bit more in the day and has gone up in ounces of milk but I’m not really having any problems. Is this regression or has she not started yet?

I have been reading a lot about this… the regression is around 4 months but can happen earlier/later and is all about the change in babies sleep cycle/circadian rhythm. Babies up to now have been able to enter deep sleep which is why noise doesn’t bother them etc. however around this time their sleep changes to be like ours so goes through stages. During the lighter stage of sleep they are more likely to wake up however they struggle to go back to sleep themselves as usually would be reliant on rocking/feeding etc. to put them to sleep. So they have to learn to self soothe/settle with help. Because of the frequent wakings they might feed more at night and then might start to sleep more in the day which can cause day/night confusion. The key is supporting self settling. As your little one takes a dummy they may just need help putting back in but you may not want to do this every 60-90mins so they may need to learn other ways too. Every baby is different and some will be more affected.

wow thank you for that. Maybe my little one has entered it then as she’s definitely up more times in the night but I’m able to soothe her with a dummy. She is also sleeping a little more in the day and drinking more. But everyone seems to be complaining about the regression and if she is going through it now, im not finding it too difficult😂😂

It’s so hard to know and because it’ll come/last different for each baby there is no set time or exact tick boxes. Generally though it’s more consistent night wakings due those sleep cycles and not being able to connect to the next one without waking. I’ve had a few false alarms thinking it might’ve come early. Definitely some babies will get through it easier and maybe a later regression will hit harder or not and if they are already used to the dummy as the main sleep prop/soother that’s may be all they need. I was feeding my baby to sleep so have started to change this in preparation for regression time as otherwise that’s what she’s be looking for to soothe rather than hunger (well for most of the wakings, probably would still need at least 1 night feed but not every waking). Recommend The Sleep Mums (book/podcast/insta) and Takingcarababies (insta/website).

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
