Is anyone doing something different rather than introducing cows milk at 12mos? My baby isn’t allergic to cows milk per se, but the goat milk formula we have her on is much easier on her tummy, she got really gassy with cows milk formula and also doesn’t even like the taste. I’ve been seeing that there are lots of options for powdered toddler formulas/toddler drinks rather than straight cows milk. Anyone doing these instead? It also seems easier than buying gallons and gallons of milk lol.

Ripple kids! Plant based milk ❤️

I plan to talk to my pediatrician and nutritionist when we are closer to a year. My LO is EBF and is allergic to cows milk. I've read no milk is needed if your diet is varied enough and everyone gets all the things they need elsewhere but I want to look into that with medical professionals more. If I do a milk it will be Ripple Kids or hemp

I've read that the toddler formula isn't necessarily the healthier option. Apparently, there can be a lot of sodium and whatnot in them. I would ask your doctor before using a toddler formula

My daughter has a dairy sensitivity, so we actually never did cows milk with her. She was introduced soy milk and the beginning. She’s two now and I was actually able to switch her to oat milk which is what I drink. But my youngest that’s going to be one in Octoberis already being introduced to cows milk. If she doesn’t react to it well then the doctor said that we would switch to soy for her as well.

Also, with the toddlers formula, my doctor told me they really only suggest that if the child is having a hard time gaining weight. that they would recommend the toddler formula to transition to milk just to get like the extra nutrients, and try to gain some more weight.
I never had to do toddler formula with my kids, but with my oldest, I actually ended up having to introduce PediaSure around the age of three because he started getting extremely picky eating and was dropping weight really fast. So I had to give him two things of PediaSure every day for like almost 6 months .

I plan on getting goat milk to start. You can get it at Trader Joe’s and it’s not terribly expensive. I don’t think they need too much milk. The AAP recommends 16-24 ozs

A2 milk! It's easier to digest, like mothers milk. I'm dairy sensitive, and it's been great! It is basically without the A1 protein, which is what a lot of people struggle to digest (unless you have a lactose problem). I buy mine at Walmart, the A2 milk company is the brand. It's more pricey than regular milk, but do some research, there's other benefits, too. Some claim cutting out A1 helps with autism behavior and anxiety. It's still cheaper than formula.

We're going with goat milk since I'm allergic to cow's milk. I used to used either goat milk or cashew milk instead, but bean is allergic to cashews so it just easier to buy goat milk for everyone than to have 4 or 5 different things of milk in the fridge

We feed my son organic, grass-fed milk only when it comes to cow's milk. It's easier to digest.
And I also have introduced him to goat milk, almond milk, oat milk, and cashew milk. All unsweetened. I'm planning on continuing to expand the milk alternatives. Not planning on introducing juices to him for a while. Focusing on non sugary fluids.
Not planning on toddler formula. Phasing baby formula out during his 12th month.

If you can afford toddler formula then do it. Peds are against it because it can be very expensive
