I know caffine is ok while breastfeeding. But I was wondering if you ladies limited caffine while breastfeeding. I have my homemade cold brew in the moring and some afternoons I just crave starbucks but not sure if I should because I'm guessing it would be to much caffine for the day?

I haven’t had any issues, although some people have said to experience supply issues. I live off coffee 😆

I went back on caffeine 2 months pp. I haven't worried at all about it. I usually only have a coffee or 2, so

You can have 300 MG whe breastfeeding. It's a little over 2 cups of coffee.

I don’t limit my caffeine at all! 🤭 I have a nespresso and the pods I use are the double espresso pods (135-150mg), intenso (170-200mg), and stormio (170-200mg). I usually have 1-2 pods a day.

I don't drink it before, or after having baby, or ever. So, I do not need it.

My god I love my coffee and as soon as I fell pregnant the smell and taste made me want to vomit. I wasn’t able to have it for the whole 9 months. It was only 2 months after having the baby is when I tried it and I got back my taste of my love for coffee again! 😩

I think the caffeine is only a problem if it starts impacting the baby? I.e. baby not sleeping

It depends on you and your body! I’m not tracking when I pump my milk anyway and my son took stuff pumped from during my morning coffee at night no prob, I limited caffeine in the afternoon just because I needed to fall immediately asleep when he went to bed with my husband taking the 7 pm-midnight shift of wakeups

I tend to watch my caffeine, but I don't drink an excessive amount anyway.
Some days I'll have a couple of cups of tea and maybe a cola.
Other days, I'm happy on water and fruit juice.
Where I can I will choose a decaf option if I can't, it doesn't matter as it's not all the time.
I make sure that I don't have any caffeine after 3 pm. to ensure that we all get some sleep at night!

Caffeine is a xanthine. Xanthines do pass into breastmilk, and will act as a stimulant to baby in high levels. Signs of stimulant effect on baby are restlessness, difficulty sleeping, muscle spasms, continuous kicking ("restless legs").
Metabolism varies, but usually mother having either 50g of chocolate or 2 shots of coffee per 24hours will have negligible effect on baby.
Its not just caffeine that's a stimulant to baby. Other xanthines are in cocoa/chocolate and in decaf coffee.

I didn't drink much whole pregnant. I have one cup in the morning. I've been breastfeeding for 14 months. Caffeine hasn't had an affect in my supply or my little girl.

You could have some de caff, green tea, less choc. Yes my little girl is very sensitive, affects her sleep (seems crankier when she wakes up), or struggles to go down for sleep or a nap, or fussier/colickier. I wouldn't go too mad. I would have less than the recommendations from personal experience, and other mums I've spoken to since having my 3 over the years x
