Poorly looking after baby

I’ve felt really poorly during the night & so worried I’ve got either the flu or covid.
I’ve got a fever, aching all over and headache.
I’m exclusively breastfeeding my 5 week old son so I can’t leave him to be looked after by partner or family. Really worried I’m going to pass on whatever I’ve got to him , if I haven’t already 😔

Sorry you’re feeling that way, being ill and looking after a baby is tough! I EBF and my little boy is now 11 months old, so I’ve had to do it through a few colds now. It’s tough bcs you can’t take any medication apart from parocetemol and ibuprofen, so take those, lots of water, bedrest, warm food and have your partner help look after baby’s needs during the day so you can rest and get better quicker. I haven’t dealt with a covid scare yet with baby but I guess test yourself periodically. I think the recover is similar process though. Good news is whatever you or your baby catches, the antibodies will be passed on via your breastmilk xxx

Sorry you don’t feel good.
Try not to worry. Things like that will happen. Baby is stronger than you think!

Make sure to take care of yourself. Lots of fluids - soup, tea, juice, water etc. And of course vitamins.

I’ve also been poorly this week and now my little one seems to have a congested nose, but as my husband works and I’m the main person looking after him, it was bound to happen! They’re going to catch colds and coughs at some point and it all goes to building their defences up and strengthening their immune system 😊 x

very true! My little one sounds a bit nasally but seems ok in himself. Hope your feeling better 😊

I hope you feel better soon! I started feeling unwell on Sunday night woke up Monday morning feeling awful and tested positive for covid I’ve pretty much spent everyday since I’m my jammies either on the couch or sleeping in bed when my little boy is sleeping then getting a shower at night when my husband is around and fresh jammies on.. I started feeling better yesterday and much better today even though I am still getting positive tests.. I am also breastfeeding and read somewhere to wear a mask when close to baby and washing hands but I wash my hands often throughout the day anyways and only wore the mask on Monday for about an hour while feeding but stopped as I thought he’s either got it already or will get it and he’ll get the antibodies for it.. My little boy wasn’t fazed by the mask but it wasn’t helping my temperature.. I hope you are feeling much better soon but my advice is if you can stay at home in your jammies and sleep and rest as much as you can x

thank you 😊 glad your starting to feel better! And I’m still in my dressing gown at nearly 3pm 😂 also waiting for my other half to get back so I can have a shower!
Typically my 5 week old has been wide awake since 9am! He has only just fell asleep now 😩🫠 gonna try and get a quick nap in myself 🤞🏼

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
