Exclusively breastfed mommas

I have a huge question that I feel as if I just haven’t be able to find an answer to. HOW DO I UP MY STASH! I feel like i’ve tried every trick in the book and nothing is working out for me. I just want to be able to have at lease 2 bottles worth of milk in the fridge/freezer in case of emergencies, but I can’t even do that my boy literally drinks everything out of me and I want to be able to continue this journey longer with him it hasn’t even been 6 months yet… please no hate just advice 🫶🏼

Have you tried drinking body armor? Seems to help my supply stay up/ produce more.

I can’t figure out how to use the Hakka! Do you squeeze it? Or just leave it on?

Avatar

so what you do is fold back the top, then apply to nipple give a slight squeeze just so i can suction the flip the top back over your nipple and you’re good to go!

Avatar

I have tried that and honestly thats the only thing that keeps me regulated to make just enough! i think my consistency is really whats getting to me and im the one who crys over the spilled milk😂

I would suggest power pumping twice a day!

Avatar

whats the best times to power pump? and how would i do so with ensuring my boy is properly fed with out giving him what i pump?

Avatar

Does he breastfeed at night too?
I was able to have a little stash by pumping at night after her feed

I was able to build up to 600+ ounces before going back to work (so over the course of 16 weeks) just by using the haaka! But I was so consistent. I would use it every single feed and night feed. One thing that helped me too is the week before I went to work I pumped every daytime feed on the side I wasn’t nursing on. You might only get 1 ounce or even .5 ounces per time but over the course of a few days you’ll have enough to fill a bottle or two hopefully 💛

Boobie bars have been a lifesaver for me this go round with breastfeeding. I’m always full now and I’m able to pump enough to store away while also keeping my little one fed and happy. I was skeptical with trying them at first because lactation cookies didn’t help me but these did and I only ate two bars out of the whole box and noticed a huge difference.

Drink LOTS of water! And if you don't wear baby, try at least a few hours a day. Or sleep with baby closer to you at night. Lots of skin to skin too

Avatar

I usually do my first pump of the day and my last just because those times are convenient for me. Do you nurse as well?

Avatar

so my thing is i dont pump at all he only eats off the boob

Avatar

but you want to pump to have a couple bottles in the fridge?

Avatar

if thats what will get milk in the fridge then id be willing to do so i just dont want to completely switch over to pumping if that makes sense? i did get some other advice about the haakaa that i may try but i am open!

Avatar

the haaka is a handheld manual breast pump. I also recommend the Medela manual pump. I have both and prefer my Medela. They’re both about $25. Also if you haven’t yet, insurance will provide you a free one, it may even be an electric one.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
