Anyone taken paracetamol after their anti - D injection ?
The injection has given me a little bit of a headache but didn’t know if I am okay to take paracetamol so soon

No. Little headache and swollen arm it’s normal. You don’t need any paracetamol.

Ia the anti d injection not 2nd or 3rd trimester anyways? Paracetamol is certainly safe.

I had to get mine early but didn’t have any issues. Will see how it goes when I get another next week.

I believe if you don’t have any bleeding prior (need for an earlier injection) , you’re supposed to get ur anti - d injection roughly at 28 weeks . I had mine done today at 28 + 3 x

Sorry to ask, what is AntiD?

it’s an injection given if the mother has negative blood group and the babies is positive x

I took my anti D and my whooping cough vaccine the same day, they all said there's no danger in doing that and I was advised to take normal doses of paracetamol of the vaccine knocked me for 6, so I assume ud be fine to take some. But not sure why, anti D shouldn't hurt or cause u to feel unwell 🤔
I got mine at 28+1, which was yesterday 😊 i have been a bit fatigued and my whooping arm felt dead all of yesterday but have been really physically active all day today! No troubles with either one of my shots so far 🤞🤞

They put mine in my butt this time, no numb arm but god it hurt

I didn’t have any bleeding and needed mine earlier as I had a potential sensitisation due to fainting and hitting my tummy. They give it as a precaution if you have such events even if there is no bleeding. I still have to get my scheduled one at 28 weeks though, burnt like hell last time :(

bless you 🤍 hopefully all goes well x

Thanks hun!

Does anyone actually know if they are definitely not compatible with baby? My bloods came back inconclusive but because my blood type is B- they still have to take precaution and will get baby blood type at birth.

it can’t harm the baby even if the baby comes out negative the same as you , I asked that today . Mine came back as O - and I got a letter confirming my baby is positive . Although they won’t know until birth x

Yeah! I definitely don’t mind the precaution at all. Ahh ok, so even though you had a result they still have to confirm it at birth. That’s good to know.

Yeah , apparently they take a blood sample from the umbilical cord . Even if they give you the results now they’re not 100% x

I didn't opt in to check for baby's blood, the anti D does nothing if he is also -
So don't want to do anything invasive

that’d fair . I didnt have to have anything invasive done , just the doctor took my own bloods like normal x

Understand - for me I didn’t really ‘opt in’ as in, in general they find out your blood type incase there’s complications etc. at birth or a situation when you might need a blood transfusion. (Based on my experience)
They take blood from you to check your own blood type and from that same blood sample they check Bubs blood type. Outside of taking blood from you they do nothing else. Unless they do it differently in other places.

ooh someone said it was from umbilical cord.. it was never offered to me

I think the blood taken from the umbilical cord is after birth to double check your babies blood , before you give birth it is just tested from your own blood test x

Yeah, definitely what Sharna said it is after birth. So sorry that you were misinformed.
