Lip Tie

My daughter is 18 months and we go in 2 weeks to have a Frenectomy procedure done.

Super nervous and wish it was caught sooner as it is a very severe Lip Tie.
Any tips and help from mama’s that went through the procedure would be amazing!! 🥰

We had a lip and tongue tie done, but my son was a week old so it’ll probably be different as your LO is older. But for us we stayed on top of pain meds really it was only needed the first 48 hrs. We also rubbed arnica gel on the outside of their upper lip, cheeks and chin and that helped too. I feel like the lip tie heals super quickly. Maybe have some popsicles or frozen things to suck on?

We just realized my daughter has a lip tie at 12m and I was curious what will it affect? Only bc I’m hesitant to get it fixed

the dentist told us it will affect speech and also oral hygiene as they won’t be able to get under the lip fold. Also depending on the severity, you may have to use braces later in life to correct their teeth.

wow I wasn’t aware of all that! Yeah my daughters looks exactly like ur LO lip tie.

Oo that's interesting my LO is 12 months and also looks like this

My daughter is 9months old. She also has a lip tie we are working on loosening things up before we cut the ties! But from the dr made it seem like its a really quick procedure!

yeaah we had no idea! It was her first dentist vist and he was the one that told us 😓

Update: The frenectomy went very well! It was heartbreaking to hear her screaming for me from across the hall, but all in all the healing was way better than i anticipated

Sorry joining this post very late after searching after feeling a bit worried after my dentist raised it at my daughters first appointment at 12 months old!
I have read it can cause speech problems, my daughter actually has very good speech, but does have a big gap, also read it can cause smile to show a lot of gum although haven’t noticed this either so far. It’s awful as you shouldn’t have to worry but of course I don’t want her to feel self conscious when she is older about her smile. How did everything go for you after the frenectomy? Are you happy you went ahead with it?

everything went amazing! LO is now almost 3 and she goes regularly to the dentist and he was very happy with how she healed and all looks great! Teeth brushing is a breeze and no gummy smile either lol. If she is left with a permanent gap when she is older… that will be her decision to fix but to me she is gorgeous with or without a gap 🥰

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
