Mother in law

Would you find it a little odd if your mother in law doesn’t ask about how their grandchild is? My mother in law lives interstate and my husband calls her every night, however, when I listen in on their conversations I can count on one hand the times she’s actually asked about our daughter. It’s always my husband bringing it up about how her day was. Would you find that a little odd? Whenever I call my mum or dad, one of the first things they ask about is their grandchild and it absolutely is warms my heart. Am I being too sensitive? Complete honesty is welcome! 😂

Very odd especially if she’s family oriented (which you’d assume she’d be if she talks to her son every day)…

I don't find it odd, but I do find it sad.
And I don't think you're being too sensitive. You have feelings, and they are valid.

My own parents don't ask about my kids, I used to think it was because I would always tell them everything before they'd get a chance🤦‍♀️, in the end though I realised it was because they just didn't care to know. It makes me feel like my kids aren't worth knowing, but I know that's not the case.
I suspect my in-laws don't ask because they don't want to pry.

Have you asked her why she doesn't ask about them?
Maybe tell her how it makes you feel. You never know what might come of it.
All the best 🥰

My Dad lives 7hrs away and we haven’t had the strongest relationship in recent years but having my daughter has brought us closer, I will call for whatever and the first thing he says is where is she let me talk to her.

My MIL who I haven’t really ever communicated with now only communicates with me and is asking about bub and I.

So yes it’s weird especially since she speaks with her son daily! but I don’t know how you’re going to bring this up without it being seen as a negative by her.

Its not odd its sad
Its same as my MIL she lives like
10min down the road
When my daughter was born was taking photos happy as but now doesn't even bother contacting or asking when i do talk to see how shes going
But she wasnt the caring loving mother to her son so guess with those type of parents they do it to the grandchildren aswell

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

Separation Anxiety

Any of your children have separation anxiety. My son will be two soon and he still does not let us leave the room for even a few minutes without him following us. Is this the norm for anyone else??
