I don’t hate my MIL but I don’t trust her with my child

I get along fine with my husband’s family but we have very different worldviews and I wouldn’t leave my baby alone with any of them. I don’t have a particular reason other than I want to control my son’s first experiences (he’s only 2 months old) and feel like they might show or teach him something that I don’t agree with. It’s starting to cause a bit tension between my husband and I because he obviously trusts his family and would have no issue leaving our son with his mom for a day which I absolutely do have an issue with.
I honestly don’t wanna hear who’s right or wrong in this just wanna know if other new moms feel the same way?

100% feel this way and even though we do have her watching him from time to time. It gives me such freaking anxiety even at 20 months old. She has no respect for our parenting but for a while we had to use her weekly when I first went back to work. Now we’re slowly backing down because our childcare situation has changed.

I have similar situation and just said it straight away that as a mum keeping the baby for 9 months being in pain I don’t feel comfortable with in laws although he opposed but I said when I feel ready I will see but I dont want to right now and just call my family for help,, I know it’s difficult but just stand your ground you are the mum father didn’t give birth..

I feel the same. I get on with her fine but she’s a bit too… airy fairy (for lack of a better term) for me to happily leave my baby in her care. I have a fear she will forget she’s looking after my Daughter 😂 she’s just so forgetful and almost on a different planet. I definitely don’t want her driving with her, it scares me. I won’t ever leave her alone with baby. Her Dad agrees with me which cements the decision in my head!

We were similar to this. My husband kept pushing for his parents to have our really small baby, it made me feel so anxious and stressed, and was so unnecessary for him to do that to me/all of us! Just tell him no. We won’t be leaving our daughter with anyone anytime soon and she’s over a year. There really isn’t a rush, follow your instincts xx

Definitely feel the same way! My husband feels the same as I do though. He and I live very differently from both our families and are worried about how his parents wouldn’t think about things (like what’s appropriate to feed baby). We had a whole thing about screen time with them too and now are less trusting with how they’d babysit.

I feel like a lot of women feel this way, I've even seen it with them feeling that way about their own mothers in some instances. I think if you phrase it to your husband like this is all a very new experience for you, your baby is so tiny, and you really just feel protective of them because that's your most important job. I feel like it's always okay to say that you're not comfortable with something especially when it comes to your child, I hope he can understand that.

Im that way with everybody, I dont trust any of our family to respect boundaries. I told my mom we would think about letting him stay with her at 6 months but she wants to let him sleep in the bed with her and thats not happening because we don't even cosleep, when I told her "no, we don't do that, I will bring his pack n play", she actually said at mimis he can 😒

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
