This is the third day and she refuses to breastfeed . During her first day she was trying to feed but cries because of pain , yesterday she tried at midday and then as soon as she felt the pain stop and last night she just ignore the boob and today too … do this mean she forgot about it ? She weaned herself ? Did anyone experience this ? Did u LO come back to breastfeed after a long nurse strike ? Should I pump one more time and stop pumping? She refuses drink in the bottle or spoon so she has drinking much milk or water I would say she had in 24 hours less than 300 ml water and milk together ..Feeling sad and frustrated , worried 😣😩

Oh I'm so sorry this is happening, it's awful to want to feed your baby and they won't. My little one goes off breastfeeding sometimes and I find some things that help. I pump for every feed he misses, that way my milk stays at the same level when he decides to feed again. I do lots of skin to skin eg bath together, cuddles. I try offering a feed just before or after a nap when he is sleepy and more willing. I let him feed a lot at night if he wants. I try not to be anxious about how long since his last feed but I know that's hard. Can you give little one some foods that have a lot of water eg Melon, cucumber? Are they in pain from teething? If so have you tried nurofen to help and anbesol liquid before a feed?

When you say pain? What do you mean?what pain is she in?

Also what are her nappies like? Plenty of wet?

Just seen this post, not feeding is a reason for a medical review. I’d call 111 for an assessment just to make sure nothing is being missed. You’re right to question it if it’s not her normal behaviour. Hope everything is ok xxx

she is teething, so she refuses completely to breastfeed , I’m giving some food but of course no milk as she does not like formula (any brand I tried all of them) and I tried the sleepy feeding but still does not want it . I will try watermelon we bought today and cucumber

yes her gums , particularly the upper ones , oh Hannah she is not doing wet nappies ! Like one a day ! We call 111 and they said to wait for a call back and still nothing ! I’m soo worried 😣

we did ! But they said they will contact a gp that will call us back

@Lily I'd call 111 back and push the lack of wet nappies as she sounds like she's pretty high risk of getting dehydrated at this point! If she doesn't like formula have you tried pumped breastmilk instead? If she goes 8 or more hours without wetting a nappy or cries but doesn't have tears she's dehydrated and at that point I'd take her to A&E or a walk I'm clinic as they can go downhill pretty quickly when dehydrated. I hope everything is alright and she gets back to her usual self soon. It's horrible when their ill and you don't know what else to try to make them better ❤

I’d advise you to take her to a&e she’s showing signs of dehydration. She might need rehydrating and I know she’s teething but there could be a different underlying cause for all of this. We can’t really advise any more if you’ve tried to hydrate her at home and you can’t xxx

Also with her age you wouldn’t want a call from a gp. I’d get her seen face to face xxx

If she is not doing wet nappies she needs to be seen ASAP, hope you managed to get a call back from 111 or get her seen. You could try water in a syringe too like the calpol syringe

I’m here in a&e. Since I left this post here and the doctor saw her , and it looks like she has an infection and also the teething . They gave her antibiotics and I have to try and give her every 10 minutes water so let’s hope tomorrow will be a different day ! Thank u so much everyone for your help 😘🙏🏽

Glad you got help and she will feel better soon x

thank you 🙏🏽
