I have been with my boyfriend going on 2 years now and we have a 1 year old.
My boyfriend is a narcissist and everyday I feel like I’m trapped in this house with him. When we got together I had just gotten out of a 5 year relationship. About 5-6 months in I ended up pregnant with our daughter. Ever since our daughter has been born our fights have gotten worse and worse to the point it feels like we are roommates avoiding each other.
I have tried to leave but he begs me to stay. He always makes me feel like I need to change… like I know I have problems myself .. I have really bad postpartum depression. I lost my dad in January and ever since then my life has been falling apart but I’m trying to stay strong for my daughter. She’s really the only thing that keeps me going. I just wish I had a partner to support me.
My boyfriend has told me that I am the issue that needs fixing. There’s times where I’m trying to have a good day joking with him and he tells me that he wishes I could just be normal. He guilt trips me into having sex with him by saying “you’re the only girl I’ve ever been with that doesn’t let me touch them”. He has told me that our daughter doesn’t deserve a mother like me. He has told me that my dad would be ashamed to see how I was acting. ( started saying this a month after my dad passed knowing how devastated I was at losing my dad ) He mimics me crying when we are fighting and I get emotional. Just so many things that when I think about it it makes me feel so stupid being here…. Like I’m 25 .. my life shouldn’t be like this and it’s not fair to my daughter.
I want to leave but I can’t muster up the strength to just pack up while he’s not here. I have such a guilty conscience that somehow when I want to leave he makes me feel like our problems are all my fault so I end up staying. I’m tired of living like this. How do you guys suggest I do this ? I want to leave but it almost feels impossible having a daughter together. How/when would I discuss coparenting ? And what do we talk about .. his mom watches our daughter when we work. Would I talk to her too before talking to him so she knows or ? I have a very good relationship with her. Better than what he has to her. She doesn’t like being around him because of how mean he is to her for no reason. I’ve heard him cussing her out just because she interrupted him.
Tia to anyone who responds. I really appreciate it. And I know this is incognito but I would love to connect with people who have been through this.. it would be nice to know I’m not alone … Just let me know.

It's not just you that is living like this, your daughter is too
Best to do it now before in a year or 2 she starts understanding what is going on and starts understanding and copying his behaviour
For her's and your sake ,get out of there
Both of you deserve better and she deserves a better man as an example for a father
You can do this 💕
yes very true .. thank you 💕 I appreciate you saying that ..

Next time you think of leaving and hold back because of the guilt, Read this over and believe in yourself 💕 You know what's best already by the way you've written this, You just need the right time as a place to go to and you'll be gone, Start looking into a property just for you and your little one and leave when your ready ❤️
