Baby carriers

Anyone suggest any good baby carriers? Would be nice for walks so I don’t need the pram all the time!

I have used the ergobaby embrace and and omni 360 and would recommend them both. I use the 360 quite often when taking the pram is too much of a hassle.

Is it better to buy these once baby is here? I’m trying to organise my “now” and “later” shopping lists lol

Would anyone consider a second hand baby carrier? Any reasons not to? There’s a specific eegobaby omni 360 one I like but it’s not available anymore.

yes, I bought babybjorn mini on vinted, got it properly washed and used it the first 3 months every day.

I recommend waiting until baby is born or visiting a sling library near you to try out some. You can hire out and see which one works for you and baby and then buy when you're sure. Last thing you want to do is spend a lot on a carrier and baby doesnt like it. I had a freerider wrap and a close caboo lite and my son hated both of them lol

i was dreaming about it from the moment I saw it first (saw a lady in waitrose, she had the leopard one). I remember googling it straight away lol. Yes its on the pricey side (even tho with the £44 discount, its bit better-i can send u the code), but the pros are: u can use it up to 20kg, both front and back carry, it’s really good quality, its so fashionable, lifts up any outfit, babe loves it, there is a AP community, you can breastfeed while wearing it and it holds resale value really well (about 75% of original price, goes over 100% if discontinued print), cons : its bit pricey.

Ahh all makes me want it more! I’ve always loved the leopard one! Not sure hubby would use it though 🤭

Tula are really good ergonomic carriers and have lots of funky prints but half the price of Artipoppe, could be another option

I've currently got an integra on loan from a sling library. Highly recommend visiting your local library so you can try before you buy as they're so expensive

We love our ergo 360. It’s a specific brand I wouldn’t buy second hand as there are a lot of fake ergos out there

I got one from boots and we used it loads my baby was more than comfy. It was Graco I think. About £20 in the sale

I also have a big wrap one I used when she was tiny and I wanted to have her on me while I did stuff on the house

I don’t personally think you need to pay a lot unless you now it’s going to be used a lot or you actually go hiking or something

I am going with the BabyBjorn carrier!! Few people I know have it and it’s amazing

i had BB mini and its not the best for your back. There is no waistband so the weight is all on your back and it was giving me terrible back aches.
I couldn’t use it for longer than 15 mins.
Other BB models do have the waistband, but I haven’t tried them.

Ergobaby mesh 360! Brilliant carrier and doesn’t need a newborn insert. My little boy always slept in it so well on walks. He now goes in front facing more often and loves to kick his legs and watch the world! Very comfy, easy to use and supportive carrier! xx

Some carrier makers only recommend front facing for very short time (AP for 20 mins I think). We dont front face at all.

Ergobaby embrace. It’s comfy and easy to put on by yourself. I used mine round the house for naps and also in the car for popping into shops

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

My seven year old

Is out of control. Her dad and I share 50/50 and when she comes to my house she is so mean. And idk what to do

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
