Should I call someone?

I woke up this morning and both hands were very swollen I'd say it has gone down a little, but it still feels tight and bruised... feel fine apart from that

Maybe give your maternity unit a call, just to either get their advise or they might ask you to go in. But at least then your mind will be at ease 😊

Hiya I wake up some mornings with the same thing. I’ve previously been told it’s heat or water retention related. I brought a blood pressure machine to keep an eye on that and thankfully that’s been ok. I hope you’ve managed to speak to someone x

My hands are the exact same, I called maternity unit and they said there isn’t much they can do except if it gets too bad then they can give hand brace type things to help with the pain when you bend,
Mine is usually worse in the mornings then goes down during the day times😊

Carpal tunnel and normal pregnancy swelling x

Avatar

I'm 36+4 and of a morning I have been suffering the same with the carpal tunnel aswell really tight to squeeze my hands but it goes throughout the day I was also told it's common not to worry x

Thanks everyone - I decided I felt well and have called anyone.. if it happens again tomorrow I might just to be on the safe side xx

One of my hands and both feet are like this since this morning too, I was wondering the same thing

I think it depends how sudden it is, if you're a bit swollen on and off but if it's a sudden change then definitely worth calling to check. Also if you press with a finger and it leaves an indent in the swelling then definitely call and be seen to be safe

Avatar

@Helena I haven't had any swelling at all until this morning. It's gone down a fair amount during the day though 😊

Avatar

ah that's good if it's gone down already:) guess just keep an eye and most likely absolutely nothing to worry about

If you don't have dont blood pressure . When you sleep you might be curling your hands in and cutting off circulation. This happened with my aunt alot. Her doctor told her you wear a wrist brace to sleep to prevent it.

It’s just swelling it’s normal x

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
