Has anyone's baby resisted cot at first but then taken to it eventually?

My baby would never sleep in her next to me for long so I gave up for months and just coslept. Now I'm trying her in her big cot which I have as a sidecar by the bed and she will sleep for max 1 hour in it. I managed to keep her in it until 5:30 this morning but had to resettle her about 10 times and sometimes she woke up after only 20 minutes. Does anyone have experience with this and if I keep persevering is she likely to take to it eventually? I'm BF feeding her to sleep in her cot so she's falling asleep already in it but not without my assistance.

Yes, ours didn’t sleep in the next to me from birth to about 3 months. And then one night she just did… in that time we’d put her down in it every single day and would take her out the second she seemed unhappy. I don’t know if she just started to feel safe there after this many attempts or just found more and more uncomfortable to contact nap over time but it just switched liked that over night and for about 3 more months now she sleeps fine and we even moved her to a bigger bed last week. I feel like babies take a lot of exposure generally speaking, but also some babies just might not take no matter what you do. I’d continue to try though!

Oh but also, ours learned to self sooth at about 2 months so I wonder if that’s also an issue if she can’t settle without your help? Maybe to do with that more than the location

How did you go about teaching her to self settle? I've had no luck so far!

We get asked this question all the time and unfortunately we didn’t do anything specific. One night she just put herself to sleep by sucking her fingers and that was it 🤷🏼‍♀️ by now she just covers her face and slams legs a few times for falling asleep. I know it’s wildly unhelpful 😭 sorry!

Try putting an item of your clothing in. When my wee one was born he refused to sleep in the next two me. I pulled one of my T-shirts over the mattress and within a couple days he would sleep in it no bother. I then took my tshirt out but what I do now is leave my pjs in there during the day so there is still some smell of me there.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
