Hey!
I just need some advice.
My 6 week old tends to wake around 8/8:30am and I get him dressed for the day, give him his 5oz bottle and then do tummy time and active play as he tends to stay awake from 8:30-10ish. ( his main wake window )
He can get really fussy after 20/25 minutes of tummy time and active play. I’m not sure weather to hold off his bottle and give it him after he’s finished his wake window as I find it hard to get him to sleep afterwards as he’s almost overtired.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I find the morning period quite difficult and I want him to be in more of a routine!
Thanks x

If you want honest advice I’d say you are trying too hard to get him into a routine. He’s only 6 weeks old remember and needs to sleep and feed often. Also 20-25 mins tummy time is a lot. My LO only tolerates 2-3 mins max!

Yeah i think you’re overthinking times/routine you just need to go with the flow for now as not everyday is going to be the same right now however its good your trying to encourage and establish a routine but just dont put too much pressure on it. My baby loves tummy time and has no issues being on his front for 10-15 minutes but every baby is different
Would you recommend feeding before or after tummy time? I’m worried I don’t want to over feed him as a few times he’s had bottles close together he’s puked up!

I do a little feed before just to satisfy him however I mostly breastfeed so i probably feed more often than a formula mum sometimes. However when i bottle feed i found pace feeding helps you to know when baby doesn’t want anymore so you dont overfeed. I also use black and white sensory cards for him to look at or sensory fruit party videos on YouTube when doing tummy time

Health visitor advised to do tummy time before feeds so he doesn't puke it up x
