Does anyone work from home with a toddler while taking phone calls? I was just offered a remote position, but it requires me to be on the phone. I was just curious to see if anyone also works a phone job with a toddler at home.

My husband and I work from
Home on Fridays with my toddler at home. It’s pretty tricky because he is very curious and wants to be involved in whatever I’m doing. Like anything else it will be a new routine/adjustment

I worked remotely doing customer service with my daughter until she was 1 year and a month old before I put her in child care. It was very exhausting, she was really loud while on calls even with noise canceling headphones and I was so touched out from her sitting under me literally 24/7. It’s not impossible!! But it was very difficult for me.

I'm in sales and work from home 2 days a week. My little one is pretty good at independent play and is a fairly quiet child most of the time. But there have been times when she is crying when someone calls and thats really hard. My job is fairly unstructured and allows a lot of freedom. It's hard though. I'm a better employee on the three days I'm in the office. I have a bunch of her toys and a lot of books in my home office for her to play with. Snacks are a good distraction sometimes too.

Yes, but I’m able to only schedule calls during my kids nap time. It would be impossible if they were awake. As soon as I get on the phone when they are awake, they all start screaming and needing things haha

It’s honestly difficult. I got up btwn 530-6am PST. She woke up btwn 8-11a, depending on how tired she was. I’d take my 10 min break for morning bath. Make her breakfast. Take my 30 min lunch btwn 11a-130p and I put her down for nap. Then I’d clock out brown 130-230p. It’s difficult but do-able! Luckily, my sales role was reaching out to childcare providers and daycare centers, so they had patience on the phone when my child was being loud.
