First time mum to a 4 week old little boy. He was premature currently 39 weeks corrected age. He has terrible nappy rash. He’s on expressed breast milk and eats lots. He had nappy rash in the hospital and they advised using metanium which cleared it super fast. We have also tried bepanthen and Aveeno nappy creams. We were using water wipes and Huggies wipes but we have changed to just water and cotton wool. We are doing daily baths with breast milk also as advised on lots of forums and by the health visitor. We are using pampers nappies and not sure if we should maybe change if they aren’t absorbing enough. He poops really often and we change his nappy as soon as we see it’s soiled usually 1-2 hourly. He doesn’t cry when he’s soiled so it does require us keeping a very close eye so if we are out it could be up to 3 hours but never more than this and that’s the odd occasion.
Any ideas on changing nappies or anything else we can do?

We use the Aldi nappies and honestly swear by them, best ones so far and only cosy 85p a bag, have you tried using water wipes they sell them on amazon and one thing that I know we did wrong was not drying her butt after wiping her or let it air dry so that could also be it maybe?

I was recommended aquaphor by my friend and it definitely helps a lot with nappy rash. I also use barrier cream. Maybe that might help?
Xx

thank you i think we need to try a different nappy. We tried water wipes and Huggies wipes none had any effect on the rash and we always dry after with a dry cloth. I think his skin is like mine unfortunately and just so easily irritated bless him x

thank you I’ll maybe give aquaphor a go! We have tried lots of different barrier creams and nappy rash creams think he’s just got such sensitive skin it will be trial and error xx
