Have you tried different formulas oh bless her she looks in so much pain 🥺can’t you get prescription milk or something?

Maybe she is having a reaction/side effects of omeprazole? Get her seen asap - she looks like she’s in a lot of pain

she’s on prescription milk that is not cows milk so it’s more gentle on her tummy. She’s been like this from birth and my spirit is just broken

she’s been in this distress since birth but I agree the omeprazole is definitely not helping her at all. It’s only been 5 days but I’m going to stop it 😔 so sad it couldn’t help her

maybe the omeprazole just isn’t agreeing with her :( yeah definitely tell your doctor about it maybe they can give her something else and keep upright after feeds for a good half an hour.. apparently it takes a while to actually start working sadly I hope it gets better for her soon x

This sounds so distressing for you both. I don’t have experience of colic but I’ve heard that some people who take their babies to a cranial osteopath see good results. It might be worth a go? Poor little bubba x

Is she on Aptamil peptide 1? My daughter has been diagnosed with CMPA and she’s been giving that milk and also omeprazole too! Hoping she gets on with both!

Yes, I think you should stop omeprazole and go back to the doctor for an alternative or advise

I have her first appointment with an osteopath booked in for tomorrow. I’ve tried so much I’m running out of ideas. It’s been 5 weeks or solid screaming 💔

she is on nutrimigan. Was your daughter in similar distress to mine? Also has the formula and medication helped her? 🫶🏻

Good that you’ve got an appointment booked. Out of interest, how was her birth? The osteopath we saw was explaining that babies can pick up tension in their body’s from birth. Mine had a lot of neck tension from being stuck but she said she sees babies with gastric issues too.
I really hope you see an improvement. Reflexology could be something else to try?

my 6 week old has also been on omeprazole for 1 week now and only just seeing the slightest improvements. It takes at least 2 weeks to start working. Do not discontinue medication with out being seen by a Dr first as it can do more harm. My baby was screaming worse than this in pain before, we're not sure why, we think it was silent reflux and maybe CMPA too but I'm EBF so I've cut all dairy from my diet and that also takes 2-4weeks to work. I think see a Dr before you change anything and also, unfortunately, a lot of this is a waiting game, until things start working. Also, at 5-6weeks she'll be going through a developmental leap, so it can be a combination of everything all at once. It is very hard being such a small baby. I hope you are getting some support from family and friends. ❤️

let us know how the osteopath appointment goes and whether it actually helps as I am also looking into getting it done for my LO.

we have been seeing an osteopath and so glad we did too ... My LO was forcep delivery, this can also affect sleep depending on the impact the delivery had

Hi, not sure if this will be helpful but my LB is 10 weeks now and I think we've just got it slightly settled! We keep him in the carrier for most of the day so don't really lay him down flat, then at night feeds we give him gaviscon so then when he is lying flat it helps, that way so far he isn't too constipated as it's just one 5ml syringe at 2-3 nighttime feeds!

so happy to hear your LO settled down! I tried gaviscon and then there was blood in her stools so maybe I could try a much lower dose of it, or a much lower dose of omeprazole as it seems her tummy is super sensitive. She’s been screaming since 1am and it’s been this way since birth. At first I was tired but now I am just numb. Il keep on at the doctors to try and get to the bottom of this 🫶🏻

How long has she been on the cows milk free milk, my boy has cmpa and was put onto sma althera for it and it took 8 weeks for his belly to settle and he was exactly the same x

I thought it was colic so I tried infacol which caused more discomfort and more blood in his poo finally at 10 weeks he’s completely settled touch wood after multiple a&e trips and now on just the althera, my health visitor did mention trying something like baby gavison I can’t remember the name and we didn’t end up having it in the end but it might be worth mentioning it to the gp x

what milk is he on ? Have you tried Carobel ? Xx

My little girl is the same she’s 6 weeks tomorrow and has been in constant pain and discomfort.

Drs are thinking reflux but they have no idea as they’re no trained on it and there are no tests.. I spoke to someone who suggested osteo and seeing a lactation specialist and also a tongue tie specialist so trying to do that now… Lot’s of mums said that helped their babies so I’m going to give it a go.

Has she been diagnosed with reflux or CMPA?

yea maybe try 5ml only and give only at bed time, and keeping upright the rest of the day, I think sometimes the more medication the worse in a way as there tummys are so sensitive!

My LG wasn’t as bad as this but after trying many things(infacol, gripe water, bottle changes, paced feeding, comfort formula) the last two weeks she has improved and it has coincided with going to an osteopath and starting probiotics, I’ve noticed a change in her poos for the better so def feel the probiotics have helped her gut x

Something is definitely wrong!! That baby is screaming in pain!! That's definitely a pain cry!! Hopefully the special doctor can help you tomorrow!! Thoughts and prayers ❤️🙏❤️

Hi thanks for checking in 🫶🏻 she’s been diagnosed with a cows milk allergy and reflux but all the meds were making things worse or swapping one issue for another so she’s off everything and just has her formula now! The osteopath was excellent but she’s still struggling. Praying for her all the time 😞 xxx

I'm so happy to hear they found the problem!! It's so sad baby girl is still struggling, but thank God they found the issue!!
She has nowhere to go from here but better so that's a definite plus!!
