Not eating enough

My son is 13 months and weaned himself off his formula at 12 months. I worry he doesn’t eat enough throughout the day. He will happily eat his breakfast. I find if he eats a lot at lunch time then he won’t eat his tea. To he will go through from 1 o’clock until the next morning without nothing to eat other than snacks here and there. Some days he will wolf food down like no tomorrow breakfast lunch and dinner but some days he just doesn’t want to eat. Is it worth my trying to put him back on formula so I know he’s full even if he doesn’t want to eat?

Picture of him with his giant pancake this morning 😂😂

Maybe less snacks in between lunch and dinner ? Or make snack more nutritious so that even if he doesn’t eat dinner, he’s still hitting his daily values. Also is he teething ? That could cause him to eat less frequently.

Do you usually feed him foods that he has to bite off of versus cutting them into small bite-sized pieces? I only ask because of the pancake. I tried BLW with my daughter, but she always bit off more than she could chew and would choke, so I’ve been cutting foods into small bite-sized pieces since 6 months and she’s a champion eater (maybe over eats, which I worry about). I wonder if that might be a reason he doesn’t eat a lot? I could be way off, and maybe you already cut most meals up, but I thought I’d ask!

I’m struggling to get him to eat veg he will eat anything bar veg. He doesn’t snack a lot but if he doesn’t eat alot then I offer snacks for peace of mind

hey. No I don’t always give him stuff like that. It was just a huge pancake and I had to get a photo 😂 he’s really good with his food most of the time but if he has lunch he won’t eat his tea. If he only has a tiny lunch he will eat his tea but it’s such a big gap inbetween them. Iv always offered him whole foods which is why he is so good with his chewing. If he bites to much off he will always take some out his mouth xx

they make pouches that are the full daily value of fruits and veggies! You can also try hiding veggies in sauces and other foods by smashing/ putting them in the food processor if you have one. What time is dinner usually ? It may just be too close to lunch time and he’s still full? Especially if you typically give him a hearty lunch.

I literally just asked my pediatrician this and she said they know how much they want to eat some days its going to be like they are starving and other days its going to be like shes living of air..she said just for us to provide the food and she will eat a lil or a lot but its all on her

Girl! Mine was doing the same things for like a month and it was stressful. But! Now she’s better at eating. I tried different recipes and I think they just go through their little phases. One thing that has helped relieve my stress about her nutrient intake is smoothies! I’ll make her a mid day smoothies with fruits and veggies and hemp protein with her vitamins and she’s all about it 😊

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
