When can baby eat food?

I've seen a few people saying that they've already given their baby soft foods (ex. Mashed potatoes, yogurt, bananas) but my Dr said no food until 4 months? Are you feeding your baby foods now?

I say use your own discretion. With my daughter I gave her avocado at 11 weeks just to taste. She’s been introduced to several foods but that’s it. Just introduced. She doesn’t get them in large quantity nor does she get them daily. Some give her a belly ache and others don’t. But, otherwise she’s been great. I wouldn’t try peanut butter(obviously), but making/puréing fruits and adding formula to them my little one handled well. I wouldn’t give her any store bought canned/Jared baby foods. But that’s just me

We hold off as long as possible (this is our third). Between 5-6 months. There is no reason to rush it, milk is all they need. We don't find doing purees that fun anyways, so not too tempted to move it up any.

@Terra Cutchall Thank you for sharing! First time momma here so I'm new to this! @Susan thank you for sharing too! Mentioned above I'm new to this! Lol. Was very curious lol.

I believe it’s 6 months

I agree with 5/6 months to start foods. The only thing I would do at this point is dip his dummy in something like jam for a little flavour. No actual food yet x

Six months is the general recommendation.
