How to get out of this funk?

Hi mamas, lately I am feeling very defeated and lonely. I love my son and my husband more than anything but I feel like all I am is a mother, wife and employee. I work full time and when I'm not working I have my son. I feel like I just need a little break once a week that doesn't involve normal hygiene. I think taking a shower is a break. But it simply isn't, especially when I have the baby monitor in the bathroom with me and I'm crying in the shower because I'm so overwhelmed. I just need advice and recommendation on what y'all other mom's do to keep your sanity. My husband has a weird schedule and typically doesn't get off work until 9pm so unfortunately he isn't there to help me a lot with bedtime stuff. I don't have any hobbies and what I used to be interested in, I'm not anymore. It also doesn't help that my husband has hobbies and I can't help but feel resentment towards him when he goes and does those things. He is a boxer, loves to work out, plays guitar and currently does fantasy football. I hate the feeling I get when he goes to do his hobbies. I feel so jealous that he has things that he loves to do that gets his stress out. I hate that I feel this way. He deserves to have these hobbies and get his stress out, it just makes it difficult that I don't have an outlet. I just need some advice on what I can do. What are some of y'all's hobbies? I would prefer something that doesn't require me to leave the house or if I do that is either free or cheap to do. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I just need some help!

Here to see some recommendations, I kind of feel the same way. Except I’m a SAHM and my husband works 7pm-7am M-F si during the day he is sleeping and working at night. We only have time to do things on the weekends and when we do stuff is what he wants to do and never what I want to do. I found a mom group that I join once in a while for walks but lately every time I want to join something comes up so I just sit home and do nothing. I get the baby ready for the day I make good for her and my husband and that’s pretty much my day.

I'm in the same boat and it helps just to get it out! If you ever need someone to vent to we can vent to each other! I feel it helps when you have someone to talk to that won't run to your SO and tell them everything you just said cause that's usually where I'm stuck and makes it hard to talk to anybody. I don't live near my family and nobody even asks how I'm doing so I'm pretty lonely and I'm with you on having him working long hours. My kids dad leaves home way before we get up for the day and doesn't get home till between 6pm and 11pm so a few nights a week we are all sleeping before he gets home. I'm dealing with postpartum depression and sounds like you might have a bit of it too. Have you posted on a local moms group to see if you can find friends? I actually met a friend on here and we hang out every other week or so and talk once in awhile which helps me not feel so alone

I definitely feel like I have some ppd, I'm a part of a few local mom groups but I have really bad anxiety and I have a really hard time making and keeping friends. My anxiety holds me back from making friends. Most of my anxiety is social and I just wish it was easier for me to talk to people. I feel so lonely not having a friend to open up to and hang out with when I just need some time away.

if we were closer I'd def hang out with you! But I feel the same way I have some type of anxiety and now I have thyroid issues so I'm just wiped out constantly and I have twins so that makes it even harder!

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?
