So, this is more like a vent than anything but is anyone else exceptionally lonely?
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I seem to have lost all of my friends. Last year, I had quite an active social life until I had a miscarriage and then overnight people found they didn't know what to say to me so they stopped calling, messaging and making plans.
I didn't make plans for a while but when I started to, some people have stopped replying all together and some have gone through with plans but they make it very awkward by wanting to talk about it and then get really off if we do or if I say I'd rather not. It's a bit weird really and I've tried speaking with people about it and they've told me they don't know how to talk to me now as they can't relate to me. I don't need them to relate I want to hear about their lives!
I'm currently 28 years old, 27 weeks pregnant and friendless. My only human contact is with my partner.
I'm not very close with my family, some of them we are but others not so much, my mom has to make everything about her so I don't see her much.
I've been trying really hard to keep up relationships on my end but I know people are really busy and I do not expect anyone to drop everything for me at all, but I don't have anyone who texts or calls.
I message a few people and this is the only way I get to speak to them, and I don't feel bad that I have to message first all the time at all but it's maybe a few times a month they will reply to me.
Idk. I'm just really lonely. I don't have anyone and even my partner has noticed how people have been since last year and he just doesn't know what to suggest. Although he did hurt my feelings by accident by saying he didn't want to end up 28 and friendless like me!!
Just don't really know what to do if I'm honest.
My partner is away right now and I did have some plans for while he was gone but these have been cancelled which I don't mind but the reasoning behind the cancelling is, essentially, that they had better offers. I don't want to be rude and say no they can't go either so obviously I said I was ok with it but it does suck slightly knowing that those people feel like I'm a last resort until something better comes along.
If you have read this, thanks for reading it. I just needed somewhere to get this out and get it off my chest. Thanks

Some friends are for life, others come and go and that’s okay. If you feel like you’re always the one making the effort then maybe it’s time to let go of those ones for the sake of your own mental health.
I moved to a new area straight after uni and really struggled to meet people until I joined an amateur musical society. 12 years later and I feel like I’m part of something now. What are your interests? Are there any local groups you could join? Sometimes being part of a group takes away the pressure. You can just enjoy the activity and conversation and build confidence and closer relationships over time.
Also you are nearly 28 weeks and can start anti natal classes which are a great way of making new connections and hopefully friends who are at the same life stage as you. There may also be a group on here for your local area where you can connect with other mums to be. Once baby is here children’s centres, libraries etc do classes where you can meet other mums.

I know it’s incredibly hard to put yourself out there but you can do it 💪 it only takes one positive connection or new friendship to start to change how you feel. Take the leap and you might find it snowballs ❤️
