Sleeping Issues

How do people put their babies to sleep? Our son we typically feed to sleep, but now with him being 1 and needing to eat regular food and getting off bottles, we need to figure something else out. He’s always been a terrible sleeper. He does not go down with rocking alone or at all. Literally it’s just feeding to sleep that gets him down, but we can’t have him chugging milk. We are at a loss. If we just lay him down he’ll just cry and cry and cry. He will not put himself to sleep. He fights it so hard. Any advice or even people that deal with the same will help me from pulling my hair out. We are at our wits end.

You might need to start the transition off off of bottles & cut the feeed to sleep association by giving him a sippy cup of milk about 30 minutes before bed
since he’s on whole milk now it won’t be good for his teeth to have milk right before bed

although my daughter does still have a bottle of milk before bed, we brush her teeth & she’s off to bed about 15 minutes later
I turn her sound machine on, tell her i love her, she’ll kiss me & I’ll hand her the stuffy she sleeps with & say “have a good night; i’ll see you in the morning” and then walk out the room

I just spent an hour and a half trying to get him down with intermittent rocking and he literally would not stop screaming and go to sleep. He hasn’t napped at all today there is no way he isn’t tired and he still won’t go to sleep

Your post sounds exactly like my son. He’s never been a good sleeper and has to nurse to sleep or forget it. It’s tough!!! Especially now that I’m wanting to start weaning from breast. I’m at a loss. My little one will take a bottle but it does not help to get him to sleep. Your not alone my friend. The struggle!!!

My son is the same with the breast. I’ve started breaking up the feeding so he’s not falling asleep on the breast at the beginning of the night. So we do lotion, pajamas, nurse, book, song, rocking and then I try to lay him down drowsy and sometimes I have to hold his hand or pat his bum to get him to fall asleep but I think it’s slowly helping.

Same girl! Hang in there. I keep being told it doesn't last forever, but right now it feels like it!

My son is three years old now but he’s been sleeping thru the night since about 5/6 months and we’ve always done the same exact thing . He was off the boob at 4 months ( and than I got pregnant with his sister ) so he was on formula but warm shower before bed , foot and back light massage and light dinner ( as he used to have 4 meals a day anyway ) and he knew it was bed time a week later over time we dropped the massage and now it was shower light dinner and his 7oz bottle of warm milk ( he doesn’t always wants or needs it )
But if you want more details don’t hesitate to contact me.

My LO want to nurse to sleep so I've changed our routine. Feeding was last now story time (his favorite) is last. I bathe him, lotions, all that in my room and feed him in my room and do everything to keep him awake then move to his room and do stories and put him in his bed. It's working well.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

Is this a normal poo?

Apologies for picture included. 1 year old has had a funny tummy since Friday not watery diarrhoea but very explosive and paste like poo and he’s not being eating as much but been drinking his milk and water normally! Today we had this poo though and it seemed a very chalk like consistency and very pale. Just asking for thoughts and advice really. He did also have lots of cream on his bum.
