Am I the only one who got the epidural when I was pregnant and now that I’m 3 weeks postpartum the area where they put the epidural my back hurts? Does that sound weird?

I’ve heard about this being a thing for lots and lots of moms.

I got my first epidural 14+ years ago and it has never stopped hurting. 2nd one 7 years ago.. horrible. Had one a week ago.. never again. This forever back pain is going to really suck x3.

I’m 39w tomorrow FTM, and I’m doing everything possible to have a natural birth bc I’m scared of epidural.

In my birth class I learned if you have an induction or sweep before your body is ready it could lead to more pain contractions leading to an epidural. I’m going to avoid that unless I’m at risk past 41/42 weeks.

4 wks pp and same sometimes I feel the needle and that same epidural sensation. I hate it 😭

Yea if I have another baby I’m the future definitely going natural. My fiancé got into a car accident a few years ago and they had to give him medicine through his back like an epidural and he said his back stick kills him and when I was getting the epidural he was like get it if you need to but I don’t recommend you getting it but I don’t wanna see you in pain he told me now I’m like yea definitely shouldn’t have gotten it

The aching from my epidural went away like day 5. I think it depends on who is giving it to you because the man who did mines did an amazing job! I didn’t feel nothing and I slept like a baby until it was time to push.

Same here I wanted to go natural but I ended up having an emergency c-section when I was already 6cm dilated 😭 I’m 4 wks pp and have nightmares about the c-section not the procedure but my scary birth experience. The first week I was sure I didn’t want to have anymore babies and that one is enough but now I’m having second thoughts 🥹 I’ve been obeying the no sex rule till the doc clears me but now I’m scared I could get pregnant again lol

Yes my back hurts , 2 weeks postpartum

I’m scared to have sex again too even though mine wasn’t so scary I’m just not trying to have another baby till I’m ready for another one. I told my fiance he needs to do the pull out method or use condoms and I’m gonna get on the pill just to make sure.

Me too! We will call it Epidural ptsd lol

for some reason my epidural never hurt me. i think it depends on who gives it to you

My back also.. 3wks pp

Avatar

yea mine was a student

Avatar

how long has it been?

I have “no students” in my birth plan.

Normally I wouldn’t mind but this is my first birth and I’m really aiming for a natural birth. I want a lot of dim lights and silence to meditate through.

Avatar

yea I had a birth plan and I included no students on it☹️😭 but then I had a emergency c section and i kinda dissociated and only realized she was a student after I had delivered lol! It’s been 4 weeks now.

Avatar

wow!! Thank you for sharing! I would expect the hospital to KNOW your birth plan and check before acting. I’m so sorry! I’m gonna tell me partner to ask these questions if this happens to me but it’s sucks bc I’m sure he and I will be out of it like you were. 🙄

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
