How to get period back whilst breastfeeding

I'm in a funny predicament. I'm 38 and my baby is 5 months old and fully breastfed. I have limited time to get pregnant and have another because o don't want to fall pregnant after 40. Obviously the process of getting pregnant also takes time do I'm worried about my period as I need it to come back to fall pregnant. Are there any ways or methods to get it back? Its been 5 months snd still no sign of it. My baby is EBF as she doesn't take the bottle and this is making me feel so anxious because om aware that the longer she breastfeed the longer my period won't start again.

this is called "catching the first egg" and it's actually very rare (maybe 5% chance)!

I EBF my first and period came back about 6 months, I was 40 by then. We started trying for baby 2 when my daughter was 14 months, and fell pregnant within 3 months, I am 41 and expecting baby 2 in January. I know everyone is different but don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

Oh, also, I still brestfeed my 16mo, she's not had a bottle or a dummy in her life, always fed on demand etc, I'm 37 and my period came back at 10.5m pp!

You still ovulate even if you don't have a period. I never got a period and was pregnant. I breastfed my first for 3 years.

And keep in mind… There’s a REASON it’s more difficult to get pregnant while breastfeeding. It’s to allow your body time to heal and all as well. A lot is still going on in there, mama. Keep in mind, there’s not much difference between 38 and 40. So just relax and breathe and enjoy this first baby. :) That will also make it easier to get pregnant. Just keep having sex and enjoying your partner and enjoying your baby.

incorrect. If you ovulated you will get a period a couple of weeks later unless you get pregnant. Yes, the first pp ovulation may come before first pp period but apparently in most cases the first pp period happens without ovulation (I was actually very surprised to learn that!). That's why "catching the first egg" is so rare.

@Paulina please do some research before replying to me. Ovulation and menstruation are two different things. Yes, they mostly go hand in hand, but it is VERY possible to ovulate without getting a period. Ask your doctor. I don't use Google for medical questions, but a simple Google search can yield you that, in fact, I'm not incorrect. Also, the baby that I birthed is proof. Thanks.

Yes, it is very much possible to ovulate without a period but only ONCE. Once you ovulate, something has to happen with the egg - you either get pregnant OR you menstruate. Your post suggested you could keep ovulating (several times over) without a period which is nonsense. Ask your doctor before making nonsensical comments. Cheers!

She has blocked me, so I can't see her responses. She is getting her info from Instagram 🤦🏾‍♀️. Plenty of women have fallen pregnant without a period. It is very much possible, and that was all I was saying. I wish you the best in your pregnancy journey 💕

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

Is this a normal poo?

Apologies for picture included. 1 year old has had a funny tummy since Friday not watery diarrhoea but very explosive and paste like poo and he’s not being eating as much but been drinking his milk and water normally! Today we had this poo though and it seemed a very chalk like consistency and very pale. Just asking for thoughts and advice really. He did also have lots of cream on his bum.
