Do we have any sleep experts on here or anyone been through similar?…
We went through the 4 month sleep regression and is was torture, so I sleep trained and within 3 nights my little boy was back to normal and only waking for feeds. Would fall asleep independently for all naps and bedtime 🙌🏼
He’s 6 months now and over the last week or so he’s had a cold so has been quite overtired and needing help falling asleep (naps and bedtime). But now he’s waking up almost every 60-90 mins through the night.
So has he forgotten how to settle himself? 🫣 do I need to retrain? 😫 Or will he settle back to normal when he’s feeling better/past this phase?
(my husband also told me that he’s been rocking him to sleep for weeks when he’s had to do a nap, so I’m low-key blaming him as well 🙄)

Quite often you need to go over the sleep training again as they grow and develop. It’s pretty normal unfortunately 😂 try not to stress, you know what it’s like when you’re not well, it can put you all out of sorts. If he’s back to his usual self I would try the training you did before and hopefully it will work 🤞 just be calm and consistent, there’s many more sleep regressions to come unfortunately 😂

It might be that the cold is waking him up, i know with my two year old it does! Might be worth some medication before bed to help reduce symptoms

Yes sadly sleep training often isn't permanent and needs to be repeated
For an update (in case anyone stumbles across this later) - I went back to sleep training yesterday for naps, by bedtime he fell asleep on his own really easily and then sleep was so much better last night 🙌🏼
