I feel such depth of sadness. I spend each day dreading the nights with my toddler and 6 week old and each night I'm dreading the following day.

My toddler is a nightmare and being totally honest I don't like her at the moment. Constant whinging and my 6 week old too. Everyone tells me it will be easier in a couple of years but what do I do until then? Endure this awful life?

Hi honestly when your in it it feels like it's the worst time. I remember 1st lockdown, pregnancy with a 1 and 3 year old. Having worked full time and then be sent home I hated my life at that point. But then I chose to find magic in a day, I made a bubble bath and the kids ate ice lolly in it, we found new walks, I tried new activities. I made an action plan for the day and new routines. All I can say is stay strong find yourself in the kids world. Mine was creativity, action plans and a solid routine and we are now on the other side xxx

You're not on your own. I have a 3 year old who's always been cheeky but since having my baby has become naughty& I get it because it is such a massive adjustment but pair that with trying to look after a newborn it's definitely not easy! Just know that it's not forever& as my health visitor said when I broke down on her the other day, you need to remember to be kind to yourself too.

Do you have any support around you so you can atleast have 5 minutes to just focus on something you want to do rather need to do? It might help looking forward to something instead of dreading what's coming.

It may also be worth reaching out to your HV or GP about how you're feeling to see if there is any other support available.

Feel free to message me if you need a chat or a rant, I've definitely felt how you feel and I'll probably have more of those days to come! X

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
