Talking?

How many words are you little ones saying? I was told I should be counting how many words my little one can say so now Im trying to list them all and so far we’re at 36. These are just the words I’ve remembered off of the top of my head so I know there’s more. When do you count it as a word they can say? There’s so many words my little one has only said once and then never said again, do they count? Or do they need to be actually saying the words frequently?

Atleast 70 if not more. He doesn’t stop talking 😂 I count it as a word he can say when I can clearly tell what it is he is trying to tell me. It may not be completely accurate but if I can understand it, I count it

Same as Imogen. I started a list but lost count she learns new daily its crazy x

I don't count when my 16months old just repeats because she can mimic sounds pretty well. I count only if she knows the meaning and she can freely use the words by herself before I say anything. A week ago or so and it was 50ish. I don't count anymore because she learns daily. She does say something like 'this is', 'bless you' or difficult workds like 'bicycle', 'busy' so hopefully we will get to 2 words phrase🫶🏻

He says quite a bit but not ALL the time. But probably about 20/30 it’s hard to say right now

Upto 90 now but he's not putting sentences together or anything - but the spectrum is so wide - some of my friend's little ones are only say a few words but are advancing in other ways that my little boy has no interest or idea in how to do yet xx

My LO says full sentences 🙈 she has two older siblings that make her ask for everything they all were advanced talkers so was only expected I couldn’t tel u how many words as like I say there full blown sentences she is nearly 16months x

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
