Feeding in the hospital

Or you can use the pump the hospital has but you will get charged.

I’d you don’t produce enough, you can formula feed. My baby lost a lot of weight the first 2 days so I did formulation my milk came in around day 4. And did half and half till I could produce enough for a full bottle.
Which was around week 2 of us!


I never pumped before being induced though

I never expected to exclusively pump so I didn’t collect any colostrum or even pump in the hospital! My baby had formula for the first 3 days in hospital, with teeny tiny amounts of nursing. Once home we stayed on the formula, and until my pump arrived I was literally hand expressing onto a sterilised spoon to feed him with. And then ended up with an oversupply !!
They will drink tiny tiny tiny amounts in the first few days, I wouldn’t worry too much at all. A good supply can come even without doing all the ‘right’ steps first. Good luck 🥰
