Every time I go to the dr for the past three weeks or so, they ask if I’m having contractions, and when I say no, they say, that’s okay, some women just don’t get them.
I kind of wish I would get Braxton Hicks just so I have an idea of what real ones will be like. Is that weird?
I also have friends who said they didn’t get contractions at all, just bad back pain. So I don’t even know if I should be looking for contractions.
Like I’m supposed to be on the lookout for contractions and time them, or maybe not?

You may be having them, but not feeling them! I get non stress tests done once a week, and apparently they're seeing contractions during those scans, but I haven't felt them at all.
Currently 36+2, had a scan yesterday where I had 4 contractions and didn't feel them at all

I had a NST on Monday and they didn’t detect any

I was on it for about 20 minutes

My first nst was at 35ish weeks, only detected 1 in 45 min. Could just be bad timing. But I know what you mean - I wish I knew what the real ones are going to feel like, too.

Braxtonnhicks aren’t like real contractions so you aren’t missing out on anything. I didn’t have any contractions prior to my first delivery either.

I am 36 weeks and 1 day and I haven’t had any contractions. Same boat as you!

I haven't had any real ones that I can tell either. My BH have slowed down and i'll get crampy here and there, but i wouldn't call in contractions. I told him yesterday and he said then we don't even need to do an exam. But idk if that's because I have a c section scheduled next week

I am the same, I haven’t had any

I am 37 weeks and I haven't had any contractions yet.

I didn't have any Braxton hicks or contractions until my water broke, and then my contractions didn't really hit hard until I was 5cm dilated, just felt like bad period cramps and then my little guy was here 45 minutes later. It wasn't bad, but I was 5 weeks early.

I remember being in your shoes with my first. Wishing I had BH contractions just to understand what a contraction felt like. But I never had them with my first and now that I have had them with my second (they're nothing at all like real labor) so not having them isn't a bad thing. You're not missing anything by not having them.
I didn't experience any contractions until I actually went into labor with my first child which was a naturally spontaneous start to labor at 39w3d.
Don't worry about not having them. Your baby will still come.
