Glucose test

My doctor has already discussed the glucose test with me. After reading about the ingredients and side effects, I've decided it's not something I want to take. When I mentioned my concerns to my doctor, I felt like he was dismissive. Has anyone found alternatives or done anything different? He mentioned something about doing a test at home for 7 days.

@Andrea🦄🧲🔥⚔️💖 got it so you just chose not to do it? Was the doctor ok w it? Will continue to do research and perhaps not do it then

I’ve been tested twice, first was the standard one where you drink the drink then wait to hours for additional bloods, second one was after a scan, it was literally just bloods. They said they only do that test twice per week as it’s expensive so it could be a while before i got my results. Which may explain why it’s not offered as standard, but there’s def an alternative. I’m uk based btw x

I did the The 7 day at home test where you prick your finger 4 times a day. I thought it was a better representation of gestational diabetes since it went off of what your lifestyle and food choices were rather than than artificially creating a situation that could cause you to look like you had diabetes. I recommend the at home. We also had a choice to eat tons of jelly beans, but again, so much junk in that.

@Taryn thank you! Will definitely ask!

@Kristina great, this is the one that the doctor gave me as an alternative. He tried to convince me to go w the syrup but I will most likely opt for this one. Thanks!

look up The Fresh Test. way better ingredients, and my doctor approved it! it even tasted good like lemonade . i passed my test
