So we are very short on money but would like to do some little things. Can you please advise if there's free or very cheap activities in the Downtown area? Maybe willing to drive to Dayton. I know some museums are free... Thanks

I just recently heard the air force museum is free. It’s in Dayton. Lots of fun things to look at if your kids are interested in that kind of stuff!

Joseph-Beth has free storytime 11am weekdays through the summer! I'm heading in now, it's really good. Plus their children's section is awesome in general if you want to hang out before or after

You could get a family membership to the YMCA they have a discount for low income and you can put the kids in the daycare which is free for members for up to 2hrs each day.

Kids under 2 are free at woodland mounds splash pad. Otherwise it’s like 3 kids for 11 dollars or 4.50 a piece. Also, Julifs Park and Beechacres park in Anderson township 45255 have splash pads at them totally free to public along with park. They are really nice! I take my son all the time.

There are a lot of good parks. Wegerzyn Gardens has a kids garden with a man-made creek they can play in and sand boxes among other things. Island metro park has a splash pad. Not sure where you are, but JFK park in Kettering also has a really nice splash pad. Aullwood Audobon has had some free entry days. I'm not sure if there is another this summer.
This article lists some free museum days. https://daytonparentmagazine.com/free-museum-days-near-dayton/

Also definitely check out the libraries. They have free events for all ages and have even more during the summer. There are also some free concerts and festival things going on, I think. Check out the Dayton local calendar or FB events.

Check you local parks department for free events. Ours does movie nights, concerts and touch-a-truck events throughout the summer.

Where are you located? Parks, splash pads/fountains, library...
