I worked with someone in a similar position.

Was told she would never conceive due to completely irregular periods.

She also got random pains and seemed to have weight around her tummy she couldn't shift.

She went on an "eat healthy" kick and couldn't understand why she wasn't losing weight around her tum.

I was quite close to her so got a call one morning to say she wouldn't be in.

She had been in agony overnight, ended up rushed into hospital to which they found her in labour and about to deliver.

@Zeynab literally had nothing what so ever, it was panic stations for family members and my oh to buy the quick basics ... however the midwives put me in contact with a charity who gave us quite a few bits... and customers from my oh work brought and donated clothes and loads of stuff... so overwhelmingly thankful !
And I felt a little movement once but had a bit of a "upset stomach" at the time so assumed It was that 🤣 x

I know someone who had the same happening to her, back in Germany where I grew up. She doesn't know who the father is and her family helps her raise her son. The crazy thing is she was taking the pill, drinking and smoking the entire time and the baby is fine.

As for not feeling baby, you may have had an anterior placenta which can make it a lot more difficult to feel baby. I had one of those and did feel my son but some people barely feel anything with anterior placentas.

Criptic pregnancy is really rare. But it's more common when a person has underlying conditions.

@Amina I feel so guilty about it but I had no idea I was pregnant.. so I ate whatever I wanted.. ate things you arnt meant to .. I drank (not much because hurt burn was killing me off) .. I smoked .. I lifted really heavy things.. and the day before I gave birth I fell over and landed on my front .. but baby was perfectly fine and there is nothing wrong with him!..

((Though if I knew I was pregnant I would have watched what I ate and would have stopped drinking and smoking!! I feel horrible knowing I did while pregnant))

@Tymmathi my mum went through the same thing with me.. except she found out 4 weeks before I arrived because she went to the doctors for something and had blood tests..
We both have pcos ..

@Jessica absolutely! I was shaking so bad for weeks after and sometimes my hands still shake.... I get the panic feeling wash over me sometimes however seeing my boy calms me down and makes me smile!

Congratulations! Just shows you don't need anyone or anything in your pregnancy to give birth for a positive birth experience! Your body did it all for you 💞 Our bodies are made for this! Must have been thr best surprise x

A friend of mine had a baby not knowing she was pregnant too.
Well, she knew, but the doctors kept telling her she wasn’t because her pregnancy and blood tests came up negative. I think by the time she came in, she was already far enough along that her HCG had reduced.
She was working as a nanny in the Netherlands when she was in her late teens and is a curvier girl, so between the tests and just some slight weight gain, they just dismissed pregnancy as an option, even though she said she felt movement. Told her it was due to the change in diet from moving there from the US.
It wasn’t until she was in early labor that they finally gave her an ultrasound and saw her baby girl on the screen.
Since she was so far away, it was extra shocking.
She and her sister were both adopted and she and the baby’s father decided that adoption was right for them at that time.
They have since married, moved full-time to the Netherlands, had another, and their daughters get to visit one another often.
