So today I was pumping at the same time as stopping the dog barking at the binmen and had my 4m old on the changing table. My pump leaked and I turned away for one second and my poor girl launched herself off - a good 2.5-3ft onto a hard floor. She wailed (as did I) and I couldn’t stop shaking for ages. I checked her over, called my wife at work and we went to the walk in straightaway. They advised a&e due to her age and way she fell so off we went - a 3hr wait. The docs were happy with her and sent us home. She has no visible injuries and seems ok in herself - was laughing at the nurses and tried to put a thermometer in her mouth!! Will obviously keep an eye on her. But how do I get over the guilt? I keep seeing her lying on the floor and just keep crying. I do wonder if I’m coping so well at the moment - my partner worked all day Friday then was away overnight at the weekend for the first time, and she was inconsolable Saturday night due to teething. Then she was at work again today so 4 days on my own was a lot. Baby won’t take boob anymore unless really sleepy or it’s middle of the night, so I’m pumping but struggling to find the time in the day along with everything else - and the dog’s hurt his paw so have to take him to the vets. Over Christmas we were all ill - baby with rsv and us with Covid, plus our in laws were here for 2 weeks(!) so didn’t have an enjoyable first Christmas really and feel like I’ve not decompressed. Sorry I’ve gone off a tangent - someone tell me I’m not a terrible mum 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Breathe deeply! She's fine, she has already forgotten the little blip. You are not terrible, accidents happen all the time, and you have a lot on your plate by the sounds of it. Please take care of yourself, if you can have someone help out a few days so you get some time to decompress.

Accidents happen and I definitely know the struggle between pumping, dealing with the dog and LO. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Baby is fine, you were juggling a lot and on your own 🥰
