Induction after reduced movement.

I went into triage yesterday as I was a bit concerned that baby’s movement seemed less active than the last few days (even though I HAD felt him move, it just felt sluggish in comparison). As I’m now 39 weeks (due this weekend) and this is the second time that this has happened in the last 2 weeks, they were really pushing for me to be induced. She did examine me and said my cervix was ‘favourable’ and she could feel the baby’s head.

I declined the induction though as I had felt him move and the CTG came back great. We went home and to bed, going back for a follow up check up and CTG this morning. I’m pretty sure they’ll try and push me to be induced today, but I’ve felt him move overnight and this morning and as the CTG was totally ok, I’m inclined to give the little man at least until his due date this weekend!

Does anyone have a similar story?

My due date is the 17th of this month was up at the hospital yesterday as movements where less than usual this is the 2nd time iv been up for movements examined me yesterday was 1cm dilated so had the membrane sweep and sent home I'm bk in tomorrow night to get induced, good luck when your time comes ❤️x

I had a similar thing with my first. We ended up being induced 2 days before due date and born within 24 hours. The last fews honestly don't matter much as its just weight they're putting on. He came out weighing over 8lbs and didn't drop any weight so all was okay after.
This time , we're being induced a few weeks early (we are high risk this time) but baby girl is well well above weight etc and her staying in will cause more issues so we're more than happy for a induction.
Sometimes it is just best for baby to come sooner

This happened to me but I chose to be induced. It was really quick and a positive experience.

They did offer me a sweep with the examination but I declined that as well as I think I just felt very overwhelmed in the moment.

I might ask for a scan when I go back in..

Hi, I had a similar experience but accepted the induction. I regret the decision to be honest. It ended in an emergency c section and if being induced due to reduced movement you have to stay in hospital on a ward with other labouring mothers for days. Which means you don't get a lot of rest. Obviously if you are concerned and induction is the best course of action then of course go for it, but if you don't think it's necessary, then I would try not to. They seem keen to induce when you're past 37 weeks even if monitoring is showing movement and heart rate to be fine.

I have the exact same thing. I wasn’t sure about reduced movements so went in to check. Baby was moving like crazy and everything was fine on the CTG. They suggested inducing anyway just in case. I declined but am so worried that I made the wrong decision! Going to try another sweep and will induce this weekend if nothing happens. The worst part is I don’t think baby ever even had reduced movements, I was just being cautious, and now I’m so anxious 😟

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

20week scan!!

i had my 20week scan yesterday, everything looked okay on baby and we found out the gender!! it’s a girl 🩷🩷. but they said that my placenta is too close to my pelvis and they need to do extra scans to check on it? has anyone else been told this?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
