My 7 month old baby girl got her first 2 teeth for Christmas. Both bottom teeth within a day of each other.
They are very cute but they are literally slicing my nipples.
She’s drawn blood 4 times with the most recent definitely being the worst.
My son was a biter and it ultimately ended our breastfeeding journey because he wouldn’t feed, only bit. My daughter is not the same - she loves breastfeeding and seems to be doing it unintentionally.
She will turn her head while she has her mouth slightly open and the nipple still between her teeth and top gum.
It is excruciating. The most recent slice is close to 1cm long.
She doesn’t even seem to realise she has done it.
What can I do to stop it? And also, what can I do to heal my nipples quickly as I still need to feed her.

Following as my 7m old is about to get his first tooth and I’m dreading it 😫

Also I had awful cracked/bleeding nipples in the first 3 weeks of breastfeeding and I used the lanolin balm. And before every feed I’d make sure they were wet with my own breast milk before baby latched, helped heal quicker.

I used to finger to help my LO unlatch and then said “No” gently and sternly eat time she bit me and it took a few times but she figured it out.
