3 months bottle feeding

How many times do you feed your baby in the day ? .. and what time do they go to sleep? I’m finding the last feed my baby doesn’t want anything because he is shattered!

My LG is 3 months and has 6oz bottles at 8.30/9amish, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm. Her last bottle is normally at 9pm but she will take 7oz sometimes 8🤣 so she has 5 bottles in 24 hrs. She goes to bed at 9.15pm but sometimes if she’s woken up earlier in the morning she will go to bed an hour earlier.
What teat size are you using? My LG kept falling asleep on her bottles and not finishing them but we moved up to size 2 and now she polishes them off!

That makes sense to me! I was trying to fit in 6 feeds whereas I’m going to try and do just 5 bigger feeds instead as he needs an earlier bedtime. It felt like I was keeping him up to feed if you know what I mean?

Normally about 5 feeds a day about 7oz but sometimes it's less if he doesn't finish it. His last feed is normally a top up I give him about 10/11pm goes to bed at around 7/8 most nights sometimes he Don't go to bed until that 10pm feed though , when he does to bed earlier I dream feed him when I go to bed

It’s my first day of doing 5 bigger feeds vs 6 feeds (the last feed was tiny) so will see what time he wakes up.. if not back to 6 because he was sleeping about 6/7 hours which was good for us! x

You could always do a dream feed about 10pm x

Yea I tried one time not having the dream feed to see how far he would go and he actually woke up at midnight so he def needs that top up/dream feed. But he feeds every 4 hours in the day so without that last feed it would be just 4 bottles.

How does a dream feed work? Do you have to get them up to burp?

Avatar

yeah it’s strange isn’t it! My LG if her last bottle is 9pm she will last til 8.30/9am but if she has it 8pm she’s normally then up at 6am🤣

Avatar

Yeah so you need to lift them out of the cot when they are asleep, I normally do a dream feed of about 4 Oz as she would never take a full feed and then you need to stir them a little so I would just rub her cheeks or feet, then move the teat onto there lips and wait for them to try and latch. Feed until they no longer want anymore, burp as normal and then put back down x

I normally dream feed if she has her last bottle at 7/8pm and it about 10/11pm x

@Abbie yea it's weird how that 1 hour can make such a difference 😅

Thanks ladies all this is good to know! x

Winding my boy asleep is not such an issue as he such a deep sleeper, sometimes he does wake as I'm feeding him but I keep lights low and he goes back down quite well

All up to 8 oz
6.30
11.30
17.00
22.30
Times slightly vary but never by much

Normal?

Hey guys I need help with knowing if this is normal.

My first born son was the easiest baby ever. Rarely cried at all!
My second born cries about everything. His diaper changes are traumatic because he won’t let you do it and the only way to get a diaper done is to pin him down (we’ve given him our phone, toys, chewies, sang to him, silly faces, played with him- he will not let a diaper change happen at all and just screams)
He won’t let us wipe his hands after mealtime he screams and flales.

You can’t distract him once he works himself up.

At the beginning I was like “this is normal” but now he’s 10.5 months and still screams every diaper change and hand wipe

Is this normal?

Bedtime

I think someone posted something similar here recently - but I'm curious what time your babies are going to bed for the night ?

My girls bedtime is all over the place at the moment and can range anywhere from 6pm to 8:30!

Bed time/ wake time

I have a five month old and really trying to figure out what time I should be putting her to bed. She wakes up at like 6:30am which is too early for me 😅

Any advice or mums who’ve figured it out?
