Been measuring on the 97th centile since I’ve been having measurements.
I have had one growth scan at 32 weeks and baby was measuring 4 pounds 11oz.
I have another growth scan booked for 19th March I’ll be 38 weeks they said I’ll possibly be induced at 39 weeks.
I’ve had glucose intolerance test which came back normal 4 weeks ago and I have to repeat it this week.
The doctor I spoke to said that there are factors such as the mother being overweight that can cause larger babies or diabetes. But I had a BMI of 18 before pregnancy I weighed 46kg and now I’m 35 weeks and weigh 52kg so in nearly 9 months I’ve only put in 6kg I’m 5 foot 1 my bmi is now 22.5 which is still way within the healthy range. I was active prior to my pregnancy and I’m still working out 5 times a week whilst pregnant.
Just feeling down about the induction!
Any one else had similar experience with being told baby is too big?

I am 97th percentile at 31 weeks. Again skinny pre pregnancy. No diabetes. We just have very large babies in our family. I have a major chocolate addiction but it’s counteracted with lots of walks (so far gained 12Kg. - 63kg now 75kg) . Anyway, Im hoping they will do a growth scan for me to check it’s not humongous. I feel like I’ve committed myself to an induction now even though no one has mentioned it to me yet. My midwife friend said, if your getting an induction, seriously consider an epidural

Couldn't agree more with this x

I would recommend doing your research, I've found the midwives couldron podcasts very helpful. Make sure that you've got all the facts, as induction comes with it's own risks.
As Charlotte said above, growth scans are not very accurate.
Also, some people just have bigger babies! Doesn't mean they are not healthy and that you and baby wouldn't do well going full term and going into spontaneous labour x
I’m hoping I’ll go into birth before my induction 🙏🏻I’ve heard from women and midwives I know that inductions can cause more pain than a spontaneous birth! Definitely will be making changes to my birth plan if I have to have an induction as so far I’ve got gas and air as well as the pool
thank you so much! Love this! X
will look at this podcast tonight thank you!x

I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and was told baby was 4lbs 6oz and 50th percentile 🤷

So I also weighed the same as you at the start and I’m at 56kg rn (height 5ft2). My last midwife appt she measured at 97th, but the midwife did not refer me to any further scans or for any more glucose tests (initial one I had was negative for gestational diabetes). I’m worried that if she continues to grow that I’ll have the same thing you’re facing. Nothing explains it as I’m generally eating healthy and active but let’s see. Really hoping you get the birth you want as I would feel the same about induction (wanting a water birth here). Keep us updated 💕

Inductions are optional (everything is actually). Read Dr Sara Wickhams' information on inductions. As mentioned already, inductions have their own risks. X
have no clue how these measurements are done I was measuring 5 oz more than you yet measuring large x
Hi Anwar! I’m also hoping to either just use the pool as pain relief or both pin relief and delivery! Wishing you the best and a safe delivery 🤍x
