Caboolture Hospital

Hey! I was just wondering about the care at Caboolture Hospital and if any of you lovely mothers have birthed there and have any reviews ☺️
I’ve recently transferred there as I’m located North Brisbane and apparently all of their birth suites have a bath (water birth wanted🤞).
I am due any day now and starting to get a tad nervous because I’ve not had many appointments there…

I birthed there! I literally can’t tell you how amazing they were. I loved every part of my maternal care, birth and post birth on the ward. The staff there are just amazing. I can’t fault them AT ALL. Midwives, paediatricians, lactation consultants, endocrinologists, doctors, just amazing! I literally wouldn’t birth anywhere else

I didn’t birth there but my son was rushed to hospital a few months back and the care that he received was absolutely amazing! The staff there were all so gentle and caring and took their time to help settle my son when he was extremely unwell.

They are amazing! I birthed there and they were so quick to attended to me and bub when both of us ended up unconscious and me in particular haemorrhaging

I was born there can’t say I know anything as I gave birth to my daughter at Redcliffe,, Redcliffe- their social workers are great midwife’s while giving birth is a whole different story, but I have heard some bad things ab Caboolture recently

I birthed my first baby there as I wanted a water birth too. But the water ended up relaxing my body too much and slowing my labour down... It ended up being a 62hr labour and they refused to give me an epidural until the 55th hour. Because they allowed me to labour for so long my body was too exhausted to deliver my placenta and I had to have it manually removed in theatre and lost 2L blood. They are very very pro natural births with minimal intervention but this was actually not good for me as my labour was too slow to progress. My second baby I chose to have at Redcliffe hospital and it was the most blissful experience. I chose to get induced and they have me an epidural when I asked and I had a 6hr labour with no tears or blood loss. I've heard mostly good things about Caboolture too but I would please please advocate for yourself and speak up FIRMLY. The midwives got told off by the obstetrician for not giving me an epidural. The best private obstetrician in Brisbane said they failed me at Caboolture.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
