I have a 2 month old & since he was 2 weeks old he hates the water. We make sure the water is warm. Not hot or cold and he screams like hes being tortured once his onesie starts coming off. I thought since hes 2 months now it would get better but hes literally only had 2 good quiet bathing sessions. He screams and cries the entire time of bathing , Does anyone elses boy hateeeeee baths ?

Have you tried putting a muslin over him? They feel comforted and swaddled with them in the bath. Or tried going in the bath with him? My little boy enjoys when we bath together, he's 11 weeks x

My son liked only showers until he was like 18 months

yes the first few weeks we put cloth over his body so he isn’t completely bare in the water but he screamed and cried in that too. But I haven’t gotten in the water with him ive been scared to do that i was considering when i was in the shower maybe have and hold him in there with me but im scared to dropp him.

i was thinking to shower with him but im afraid of dropping him. I think ill get over that fear and try it this week.

we had to tag team it. I would hold him, Dad would wash him from outside the shower and take him to be dried and dressed while I showered

the last 2 baths he has been quiet i was thinking maybe hes getting used to it but then last night i had put my breastmilk in the water and he went back to screaming and crying

Oh my boy doesn't like showers. Do you not have a baby bath you can use to help you if you were to go in the bath with him?

I was bathing with my son at that age only started to use the baby bath when he could fit in it he didn't like it at first but he got used to it I tried to play with the water a bit when he was calm to try to get him to kick or coo or something

I have my son his first shower at 2 weeks old and it’s still primarily the way I bathe him. He prefers them over baths. It’s a little scary at first showering with them, but surprisingly, when they’re smaller and don’t move as much is when it’s the easiest

see my son is 2 months & squirms his ass off 😂 he wont stay still. But im going to try showers with him

Use a thermometer for the water- you want it between 98 and 101 (Fahrenheit) - my baby hates a bath if it isn’t above 99.

Have you tried sensory bath toys, my son loves lights, so we found light up bath toys and projection lights in the bathroom really helpful

can I ask what light up bath toys you bought? I'm looking for some

I found that making sure the room is warm first helps, and removing clothes slowly, giving him time to get used to it.
It doesn't always work and he cries anyway but he loves being in the water most times!

I just typed in light up bath toys in Amazon and quite a few came up we have an octopus and some dinosaurs and then we got a star projection light that we just sit on the floor in the bathroom, the room does have to be fairly dark for them

They are mostly like this.

I had to shower with my first born until he was 2 and as far as showering goes be mindful of the water and his face/head area. Only a tablespoon of water can drown a baby that small. Don't hold him against you. I had to ask my SO to shower with us for the first 6 months so we had more bodies to block water and more hands to hold baby.
