When you introduce a new food do it for 3 days and in the morning. This way if they have a reaction(allergic, gas, or constipation/diarrhea) you are dealing with it during the day and not at night time. When you introduce an allergen I would do that food only for the 3 days so if they do have a reaction you will know for sure. Not all allergies present the same way. Some will have hives or redness around the mouth while some will cause gi upset, vomiting, and diarrhea hours later. Our LO has an egg allergy and it was so hard to pinpoint cause she wouldn't show signs till 2-3 hours after she ate. This is a common reaction to egg, fish, chicken, and milk allergies. At first, they are not going to eat much about 1-2oz a day. Mostly they will play with it! Once they really start eating you will take the oz of formula/breastmilk they drink and subtract the oz they eat in food. Ex: 32oz of bottles/day. If they eat 6oz in food that food would replace 1 6oz bottle. This will help you make sure they are eating enough.

Sorry, so long but I hope that helps đź’–
