And just like that our at home water birth with a midwife (who we paid $6k out of packet for) ended with the blink of an eye. At 12:30am Friday night going into Saturday I had gotten up to go pee before going to bed for the night, however as I began to walk back to our bedroom I felt liquid fishing down my inner thigh. I immediately went "Oh crap!" Turned on the bathroom light and ran over to the toilet where I proceeded to pour fluid out of me. For any other FTM's it didn't feel like peeing at all, I can't really explain how it felt, kind of felt like nothing in an odd way, just flowing into the toilet. I called my midwife and she told me it sounded like my membrane has ruptured and sent me to one of the locks hospitals in our area. Since the bear in the area was 25mins away my husband drove 90 down the highway to get us there and we were brought up to a room immediately. By 5am real contractions began but when the doctor checked I wasn't even dilated yet. It is now 7:30 and I'm only 2CM dilated but I've had contractions anywhere between 2 minutes and 5 minutes throughout the entire day. I opted for the Nitrous Oxide, I highly recommend it! I've been awake now for over 40hrs and I am absolutely exhausted and praying to get some sleep tonight so when baby is finally ready so am I. Our biggest prayer is that she can push through this week to get us to week 35 so there's no immediate assistance to the NICU šš½ I will suffer through these contractions all week for my baby girl to get us to week 35!

make sure to be you and your babies best advocate for everything you wants momma. I definitely recommend the Nitrous Oxide, it was very helpful for the first half of the dilation process. I would honestly put it up to my face put my hands over my eyes to make it like I was in my own world and I would focus on my breathing and it really worked well. As someone who didn't want an epidural I did get one Sunday morning around 2am bc I was coming up on 48hrs of no sleep and the contractions were getting really bad, I wasn't going to be any use for anyone without sleep. By Sunday after at 12:12 baby girl was here, I only pushed from 11:43 until 12:12..

once I started pushing I personally refused to really stop other than at first when the contractions were spaced out but that last contraction where they were telling me I could take a break she was crowning and the pressure was undescribable so I said nope and just rallied through it and now she is here! She's very healthy for 34 wks! In the NICU but breathing on her own and being monitored āŗļø
