Partner always sick....

Don't really know what category this question falls into, but my partner is ALWAYS sick. Either cold, or physically sick, or just too tired to do anything. He works full time, long hours and physical job so I do understand. But it infuriates me and makes me so resentful. I too get sick, I've had 3 colds in my babies 4minths of life, and 2 stomachs bugs with vomiting. But I can't just have a sick day, I've still got to put her first. I think today has just really annoyed me. He's still on the sofa, hast moved, so baby and I are stuck in the bedroom, I've had to clean his fucking sick off the toilet seat and floor, do all the washing up from last night's dinner and make myself food before babies first nap. And I'm dreading everything that will have to be done tomorrow, like washing all the sofas and blankets that he's getting all his sickness on 😭 am I just over reacting or is It normal to feel this way. I just feel like he's allowed to rest when he's ill, but I am not, I still have to think about everyone else. I'm still run down fromy last cold and cold sore 😭I dnr feel empathy anymore when hes ill, as I feel like its 80% of the time these days, and im the one that was pregnant and gave birth, and is exclusively breast feeding, and has done every single night wake/feed. Sorry for the rant. I just have noone to talk to about this stuff either :(

I think your feelings are completely valid and sorry that you are going through all of this. I definitely would make him clean up his own sick if he got it on the seat and floor. Being ill doesn't make you incapable of those tasks.

If he was alone he would have to do it himself and just because you are there isn't an excuse to leave it for someone else. X

Sounds like you have two kids

I would start setting some boundaries quickly because it’s only going to get worse. 3 kids for me now and he’s never changed, and I just get more tired, more sick, more energy drained from my kiddos. It’s not fair. You don’t deserve that. Women are always expected to do it all, men won’t learn unless you make them. Please start telling him what’s up & stand strong on it, do it for your future self. You deserve it!

Ask him to go to the doctors, he might have issues with his immunity (1000mg vitamin C a day really helped me when I kept getting ill) it’s an awkward one because not his fault he keeps getting sick but he has control over how he handles it and doesn’t sound fair on you at all x

thankyou! Yes I've told him to go to the docs:( he's got inflamed lymph glands so there's obviously something going on:( I'll mention vit c tablets, even if it helps a little!

Avatar

thankyou. Sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this for so long! I'll try, and maybe can try and reset some of the boundries aswell? Good luck x

it's feels that way

thankyou. I try not to, but if I didn't, it'd never get done. Don't get me wrong he cooks 80% of our meals and puts the washing on, but those actual cleaning jobs he doesn't seem to even notice. Like the toilets and kitchen floors and all that fun stuff 😂

Side note: it sounds like you guys are both getting sick very frequently, maybe you should have the house checked for mold or something 🤔

Have you tried making him tea and make sure he has his zinc , vitamin c and b12? Since you know he becomes a baby and pretty much useless when hes sick ??

Avatar

Did he look after you when you were pregnant? Was he waiting on you hand and foot, and doing all the housework, cooking, and cleaning and of your sick during this time?

Because you're only pregnant for 9 months of your whole lives together. So if he didn't do absolutely everything to make you as comfortable as possible whilst you were pregnant, why should you have to treat him this way now when he's sick?

Avatar

Is there anything you can pinpoint about the getting sick constantly? Like where does he pick all the bugs up from and does he have a good diet and take vitamins?
I mean people get sick but its not ok hes expecting so much, like hes not a child, adults get sick and have to keep going

I get pissed off if my 8yr old gets sick anywhere but the toilet 😂 There is no way I'm cleaning up sick from a grown man and from sofas?! Aint no way, I'd probably have him leave until he was better 🤣 gross, and selfish

Don't be his mom. He needs to grow up. And Treet you like Quinn 👑
Maybe detox would be good for him. Change in diet. Eggs dairy gluten corn. They all feed pathogens. No good. If you want to heal. 💚
Agreed on zink and vit C 1000.
Lemon water in the morning on emthy stomach. Fat food just after lunch. This would help naturally your(his) body detox from sluggishness. Give a break for the liver.
Be sure his washing his hands.

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?
