I believe I got mastitis. I feel my breast burning during and when im not breastfeeding. I feel pain on my underarm area, and I feel lots of chills. I'm at a point where it annoys me severely when people touch me, especially around the breast area. I also have to prepare myself mentally every time I need to breastfeed as I know tge incoming pain. It has been more than a week now so I'm worried. My baby is now 6 weeks, who do I call? midwife, GP or 111...? Or is it something nobody else can help me with?

GP, if it’s mastitis you will need antibiotics and they are the only ones that can do that for you.
Look up the symptoms of nipple thrush too in case it’s that instead

I had mastitis with my first. You need to call 111, they will advise you and they’ll probably be able to get you a GP app without you going through the whole ring for an appointment thing tomorrow morning. Xx
It’s really important to get it seen to as mastitis can get bad quickly and form an abscess.
You need to continue feeding from the effected boob x

Yep I have the same thing, got antibiotics from GP on Friday and already pain has improved. Hopefully 111 can book u an out of hours GP appointment for tomo! X Hope ur OK, it is painful!!!! Xxxxx

Although it was a few years ago, I had it with my first and gp didn't even ask to see me, I explained my symptoms and they prescribed me antibiotics straight away. It can get bad really quick and needs treating ASAP (if it is mastitis... Sounds exactly like I was when I had it) 😭

Thanks ladies, I've called and they sent me to the urgent care. Just happen to be at the busiest night ever 😣

oh no! Hope you get seen soon!!

If it’s middle of the night, 111! Mastitis progresses very quickly you can get antiobioics in the night and get starter on treatment quickly. Failing that GP first thing.
With my first baby I had mastitis 4 times so get yourself help it can be horrible 🤍

Spent more than 3 hours waiting on urgent care just to be sent home with the same advice from the NHS website. As if I wouldn't try everything in there before I decide to call... they said if I stayed there would be a 7/8h waiting, and told me you should just pump and pit the baby on the breast more often, like they were trying to downsize what I was feeling to justify why they couldn't attend me. Anyways, here I am pumping right now full of pain, this is really stating to mess with my mind, I'm already sleep deprived and tired as I also have a toddler he is just about to turn 2 years old... anyways, sorry for the rant

Oh love I'm so sorry!!!!! They definitely should have given you antibiotics!!!! How incredibly frustrating and exhausting! I hope you can rest a bit now and see how u feel in the morning xxxx

It is really difficult with a toddler and a baby (I have the same), but you're doing great, look after yourself and rest 💕 sending love
